A real shame for Grigor Dmitrov. He was two sets up on Sinner when having to retire. He’s 34 now and won’t have too many more chances.

I had forgotten that Cameron Norrie had such a strong Scottish link, his dad being from Glasgow. Just as I thought, it takes a Scot to do the business at Wimbledon, although I don`t see him progressing much further this year and he is 29, so maybe this is as good as it gets.

Got to agree there, Paralex, it takes the Scots to actually make an impact at Wimbledon, the rest of the home nations just don`t have the necessary grit

Yes, they always put one on after the game and before the interview.

Thought tonight`s game would be the final hoorah for Norrie. I do like Alcaraz though. I fancied Sinner to do the business this year but looks like Alcaraz must be favourite now.

Sinner is not as effective on grass and Alcaraz currently has his number.

Did anyone hear how Sinner’s scan went on his elbow?

I think Sinner beat Alcaraz at Wimbledon quite comfortably previously? Both have looked a bit vulnerable at times in this tournament but you would have to favour Alcaraz currently.

Women`s final 6-0 6-0 was crazy.

Just read that centre court capacity around a tennis court is 14,900 but EEP around a footy pitch at 11000 is nearly as crazy.

I wonder how much a centre court ticket was and for what ?
Women getting the same prize money as men, I believe?
I wonder if Wimbledon will be regretting that decision ?

My men`s final ticket last year was £250 or so from memory so I`d imagine that ballpark.

I’ve since read a ticket was £350.

Well, I got that wrong. Congratulations to Sinner for coming back from that devastating defeat in Paris. This took a lot of testicular fortitude.

How did you get a ticket for the final Rusty?
Was it in the ballot?

I`ve often wondered about the demographics of a Wimbledon Final crowd. Yesterday a popped champagne cork landed on the Centre Court during play apparently!
