He pretty much has Europe and Ukraine agreeing to all his demands yet he still does not seem happy. If he feels that signing the Mineral Deal is "Guarantee Enough" then WTF is so difficult for him to come forward and say that he guarantees Ukraine`s security? The USA and NATO have automatic rights to that "Guarantee" since 1949 so why would he publicly and loudly remove it from potential European Peacekeeping troops if his Mineral Deal was "Guarantee Enough"? He is a deal breaker NOT a deal maker and I agree with Trudeau that he is dumb. DunfyDave Reply |

When Russia invaded Crimea that meant that the guarantee had to be honoured, and it was decided that NATO membership was a suitable way to achieve this in the absence of Russian continuation of its side of the security guarantee. Apparently its only Ukraine which is expected to hold up one, unofficial, part of this agreement whilst Russia can just march around Ukrainian territory without so much as a bye-your-leave. What sort of negotiating skill is this to publicly declare your hand before placing your bet at a high stakes poker game? No poker face at this game. Like a wee boy cheating, he has fixed the cards to ensure Putin was dealt a Royal Flush. Also threatening to withdraw all US troops and bases from Germany. What a time to again publicly declare this. It hints that not only is he no longer interested in European security but he is actively promoting the prospect of war. I fully understand the delicate tightrope our European leaders have to walk when dealing with two maniacs on opposite sides of the world but perhaps the time is now arriving for us to start negotiating our own peace deal and future. Where is Bletchley Par to offer a dignified, balanced counter-opinion to this forum? It seems a tad unbalanced without him 🤔 DunfyDave Post Edited (Sat 08 Mar 08:58) Reply |
