Topic: Farage and the 5 million

Does anybody honestly believe he`d be doing this if he thought he`d be exonerated by the investigation?

It`s a desperate and obvious attempt to avoid scrutiny and I hope none of the other parties stand against him.

We have to endure the farce of Farage vs Count Binface first, then the real bye-election once he`s punted for breaking the law.

To be fair, electing Count Binface would be hilarious!

Farage has said Reform will cover the cost of the by-election.

You mean one of his crypto billionaires will foot the bill whilst investing in him.

Setting the precedent of allowing political parties, or individuals, to fund elections seems like a really bad idea to me.

Yep. Maybe a nice way to launder some cash. The guy`s a crook and these idiots still support him.

Apparently the law does not permit anyone other than central government to fund a by-election. I wonder if Farage knew that when he said Reform would pay for it? The cost to the taxpayer is likely to be between £250k and £300k.

Count Binface quoted as saying "Leave him to me".

If I was in Clacton I definitely know who I would be voting for.

By one of these endearing quirks of the Westminster system Farage`s resignation has to be accepted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Rachel Reeves said : `It is a farce and a desperate distraction and the people of Clacton deserve better but, if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won’t stop him.`

Count Binface is 4/1 to win.

Dare we dream?

Nice joke from Green MP Hannah Spencer -

`We get to spend the summer watching Clacton, a farce of a byelection where one of the candidates is a joke character filled with rubbish and the other is Count Binface.`

Clacton is now a three-horse race, with Pierre Corbyn, brother of Jeremy, announcing his candidacy. Could he defeat Farage and the tin man? Oh please, please, pretty please… make it happen! 😁

So Binface is still the only sensible candidate?

No idea, Wotsit. I live a long way from Clacton, but I would think anyone but Farage would be an improvement.

Did he not have a massive feud with Corbyn years ago due to his own dodgy past and arrests??
