62. Author: Bertie Paton Date: Sun 20th Apr 2025. 21:43 Like they did with Tidser and January. Well done the new owners on that rubbish 👏🏽 they seem to have got it right with Lennon but back to square one with VW. You really are a bundle of joy.FFS Reply |

64. Author: RhinoPars Date: Tue 22nd Apr 2025. 13:15 Wanyama clearly is overweight and not yet match fit, and his debut at Ayr was a big disappointment. He was very slow and being ring-rusty gave the ball away a few times before further compounding things by slipping and getting sent off. However, despite this disaster of a debut, I take a different view to many on here. Like another poster (sorry can`t remember who it was) wrote... When George Best played for Hibs he was not fully fit, but yet he still was the best player on the pitch. When Wanayama came on against QP, while slow, I still thought he did alright and there were flashes of real skill. On one occasion he skilfully outmanoeuvred defenders and put though a nicely weighted accurate through ball. We haven`t been doing enough of that (or playing more creative players like Cooper or even Andy Tod who can do that). His holding up of two or three defenders by the corner flag to run down the clock was enjoyable and reminded me of Nat Wedderburn doing a similar thing at a Dumbarton away game a few seasons ago. Football is not just about winning but also entertainment. While clearly work in progress (with lots to do), he certainly entertained me that day. It is obviously, harder to evaluate someone from ParsTV (rather than watching live) as you only see part of the pitch. However, from what I saw against Partick Thistle, (while still overweight and slow),he seemed to make a few OK passes. He clearly has lots of work to do (re his weight and fitness), but from the glimpses of what he can do from the QP game, I can`t help wondering what he might be capable of at Championship level IF he could 1) get his weight down and get fitter in the off-season and 2) then get a full pre-season of training under his belt (assuming his past knee problems don`t get in the way). I have no idea of what his remuneration arrangements are, and the extent to which Gamdon sponsored his signing. However, it got the club a lot of good publicity. The positivity at the time (with Neil Lennon also having been recently appointed) just might have contributed to boosting morale in the squad. With his top-level playing experience I would expect he has been helping pass on advice in training . The new owners have really helped reinvigorate the club, after what have been a couple of pretty dismal seasons to be a Pars fan. Neil Lennon seems a great improvement on other recent managers. His interviews are certainly much more interesting (than previous recent managers). If, as is rumoured, our new owners are looking to invest more in the team. and 1) we can have a good rebuild of the squad adding more quality where needed and 2) we get a new pitch more conducive to passing football, then I think we can look forward to next season and challenging for a top4 spot with renewed optimism. I`m with Raymie on Wanyama - let`s see what happens over the summer. Post Edited (Tue 22 Apr 13:25) Reply |

67. Author: coventrypar Date: Tue 22nd Apr 2025. 20:51 One Wanyama = 4 good players or 8 kids. We will have 3 or 4 Premiership experienced players next season - and the only way he will be here as well, is if a sponsor pays his wages. 69. Author: Athletico Date: Tue 22nd Apr 2025. 21:22 I`ve been told Gamdom will essentially be funding our window, shirt sponsorship will be one of the most lucrative in the country. The summer window should be an absolute blast. Reply |
70. Author: coventrypar Date: Tue 22nd Apr 2025. 21:25 Rigger Al Making it up in my head like most of us. :) So lets make broad assumptions - when KRH was getting £3k a week from Rangers and hadn`t touched their first team - and Wanyama played for Celtic in the 1st team - I`ve based it on £4k a week for him as he is past his best ( currently we believe being paid by Gamdom). So you get 4 x £1k players for that or 8 x £500 What we can be confident is that next season to get into the top 4 minimum and I don`t think our new owners want to settle for that - there will be 3 or 4 class players in our squad. 72. Author: wee eck Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 11:44 There`s a long interview with VW on COWS. He has been made very welcome and enjoys working with young players. He had a meeting with James Bord in London. He feels he`s nearing match fitness. The style of play in the Championship took a bit of getting used to. He hasn`t ruled out being here next season. 73. Author: CitizenPar Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 12:13 A really good player can`t just become a really bad player. I reckon with a full pre-season behind him he could be a real asset to us next season, on and off the pitch. Reply |

75. Author: Athletico Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 13:32 Wanyama is a bulky lad, google photos of him at Celtic and you can see he is much the same. He is clearly not anywhere near match fit, but he hasn`t played since July. Give him a full preseason with us and he will absolutely destroy this league. He`s a class act. Reply |
76. Author: SusieQ Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 13:40 Could we not maybe sign him month to month to begin with & see if he can get fit over the summer / pre season 🤔 Would be a massive coup if we / he can, especially if Lenny is sticking around 😎👏🏼 COME ON YE PARS! Reply |
77. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 13:44 Would all depend on what sort of cash he is asking for. If he isn`t wanting mega bucks he might be worth the risk but he looks a bit stocky and looks well off pace when he comes on. c'mon the pars Reply |
78. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 14:20 I think there are good times ahead for the club. I am sure it`s a different challenge for VW but one he is maybe up for. With these things it`s about living in the moment. Next season will be better for sure, what player wouldn`t want to be part of that especially if NL and the coaching team are going to make you a better player G Wardrope Reply |
79. Author: thebear Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 14:35 A farcical signing, BUT did he improve morale, provide some enthisiasm, probably yes. If he was fit could he do a job for very dubious Reply |
