Unless he can show he`s able to at least break out into a jog at some point then I wouldn`t touch him next year. | 82. Author: par-ticular Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 22:12 Has he forgotten all his experiences all that knowledge he accrued over the years. Stuff he can pass on to the younger players! Or does that just disappear when you’re not match fit. My partner’s son is 50 can’t get about the pitch as he once did, but is much sought after as a coach to younger players. This doesn’t mean Wanyama is totally useless., as I’m sure NL knows. Just my thoughts, as an ex Manager who passed on my experience to younger engineers. Reply |
| 83. Author: parathletic Date: Fri 25th Apr 2025. 23:04 One of the young players told me he is pretty quiet in the dressing room and doesn`t really interact with the other players. Whether that`s because he is new or that`s just his character I`m not sure. I suppose you can lead by example without talking much but he certainly hasn`t done so with his fitness levels. I wouldn`t be surprised if he called it a day at the end of the season. Let`s see if he still has the desire to put in a hard pre-season before making a call but Marvin Hagler`s silk pyjamas quote springs to mind. Reply |

I don’t think he’s as “fat” as people on here are making him out to be, I think he’s pretty stocky and been shoved into a skin tight top…..anyone would look bigger. On saying that, he’s older and carrying more mass around and hasn’t played in 6 plus months before signing for us so it will take time to get up to speed. Id give him pre season and the friendlies to see where he is at. Im pretty sure we cant, but trialists aren’t allowed in the League Cup groups are they? Reply |
