47. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:00 No real surprises there for me. There are arguments that with better coaching, better team-mates, a better pre-season and a better pitch some might come onto a game, but that’s a lot of ifs, particularly for the older players. Comrie may have been told that he’s welcome to stay but he’ll be behind Bray in the pecking order. Similar with Hamilton – good to come on to see out the game, but less likely to start. This may be the case with one or two others. Of course, this is all dependent on who the manager will be. Wighton and Breen have not been in the plans for a while and the former has fitness worries. I don’t think Lennon will have seen Mebude much. Has he still got a few months left on his contract? Wotherspoon and MOH have been disappointments. As has Chalmers, to a certain extent – although Lennon seems a fan (as were Tidser and McPake). OTC looked a bit lightweight. I thought Clay offered something a bit different, but I suspect there are plenty like him in the lower English leagues. Perhaps the analytics can identify a replacement?. Better in a team that is having to battle, perhaps, than one which hopes to be on the front foot more?/ Clearly the loanees will go back to their parent club. Tobi certainly and possibly Fogarty might be worth trying to get back. I guess Margetts may be lined up as the number 3 keeper? It is quite a brutal business though. One moment you are a promising prospect, the next you are let go because there is someone still under contract and it is easier to bin you. Reply |
48. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:01 Raymie the Legend, Wed 7 May 16:46 None of our loaned out players this season ended up at other Championship sides, which says a lot. Today’s statement feels like a clear sign the board and Lennon aren’t content with just surviving. They’re aiming higher than just scraping by in the bottom half of the championship. About time we showed some ambition! c'mon the pars Reply |
49. Author: parathletic Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:09 cammypar 1995, Wed 7 May 17:01 Why would we have loaned any players to other clubs in the division when we were in a relegation battle? Reply |
50. Author: Connor560 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:26 Would have let Hamilton go personally, being a Pars man isn`t enough. Granted I`ve only seen him 6 or 7 times this season but his use of the ball is arguably the worst in the squad and mix that in with too many silly bookings as well. Hate to be negative around players but just calling it as I see it. C'mon Ye Pars! Reply |
51. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:29 No surprised in who is defo leaving. Suprised at Oakley, he played like someone who is in year 1 of the 4 year deal, maybe Lenny thinking he can get him to show some interest. Would not offer wanyama a contract until he had done pre season and we can see if the desire is still there. Feel like Hamilton should move on or at best he’s a sub, pars man and gives his all but lacking in stature for the top end of this league. If anyone who is free to leave signs on for next year it maybe suggests we’re not going for quite the overhaul expected. Interesting on McCann, we haven’t simply triggered the year option as yet so hard to tell what they are going to do, good to give him the facilities for his rehab tho. 52. Author: GJS93 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:32 "Concerning that with us still having KRH, Otoo & Matty Todd signed up then us talking to Oakley-Boothe, wanyama, Hamilton and cooper.. that’s the nucleus of a very poor midfield remaining for another season" it makes no sense at all and more so when you look at what Lennon has said since he took over whether it be about lack of quality, attacking play or fitness certainly in Wanyama`s case. you dont keep guys that are not any better than what is already under contract even if you are trying to move some of those on. 53. Author: cfad Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 17:44 Thanks and good luck to the players released. Especially to Arron Comrie who’s been a good servant for us and Joe Chalmers who got stick week in week out from many who had his card marked. All ultimately not good enough to take us forward and the right decisions for the club. Onwards! Reply |
54. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 18:00 parathletic, Wed 7 May 17:09 There wouldn`t have been offers from a championship club. As I have said before the statement shows intent on building something new. Out with the old, in with the future. The direction`s right, the mentality`s changing. Trust the process and look forward to seeing what Lennon produces. c'mon the pars Reply |

56. Author: kelty_par Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 18:39 I think the issue with Mebude may be that the Bulgarian league hasn`t ended yet? Presumably when his loan ends and he returns he`ll be thanked for his efforts and released. Of the contracted players, I assume Mehmet will be away given his wee cheerio cameo at Cappielow, and there are obviously question marks over Benedictus and Fisher with the court case pending. 57. Author: Ahoy!Ahoy! Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 18:44 I’m happy with all the released players tbh, Comrie was a maybe. Regarding Oakley-Boothe I think there’s a player there, with a full pre season behind him he could be a real asset. Lennon seems to rate him so I’m happy with that. Be interesting to see who we actually bring in, that’s the joys of the summer. Thankfully it’s one we can enjoy as Pars fans with a few quality signings to strengthen what we have. Attacking players are a given. Reply |

60. Author: Jeffery Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 19:07 Oakley-Boothe is certainly a talented player. As has been said, maybe having better players and more movement around him will see us get more from him. My slight concern with him has been his ability to play in a physical league, one with little protection from referees. I think he`s gone into his shell a wee bit during games after an opponent has clattered him. I want to see him show a bit more dig. Reply |
