62. Author: NMCmassive Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 19:59 I think everyone is hoping Wanyama after a preseason will be much more up to speed. He’ll never be the most mobile now but I remember when Ian Ferguson joined us at the end of his career. Wasn’t the most mobile but was a good passer and would control the rest of the midfield. With the greatest respect to Ian Ferguson, Wanyama was a much higher quality player in his prime so it could turn out to be a good move 🤷🏻♂️ who knows! I’m disappointed with Comrie leaving but not surprised either. I wonder if he called time on it himself? The guy owes the club nothing. Been a fantastic servant and I’d wish him well. Exciting to see what happens with Mullen and co. Also to see who we’ll bring in. I’ve not been checking to see who’s available this summer but god damn I hope this summer is better than previous years 😂 COYP Reply |
63. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 20:47 Just talking to Wanyama suggests it`s only a matter of time before Lennon is officially announced. Raymies mention of the pitch and the struggling squad is spot on. The Iain Ferguson comparison is a good one, although I`m undecided whether a full preseason will make Wanyama a good addition or not. Brother will have the summer to beef up a bit,and may well come good with better players around him,as well as a new pitch. 2 new keepers (hopefully with Tobi returning) are now a necessity. With Mehmet as 3rd choice. I hope the released guys find themselves a new club but don`t come to haunt us. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. 64. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 21:50 Not sure on the comparison between Ferguson and wanyama. Ferguson was a consummate professional who set and expected high standards from others and although he had lost a yard he still have the brain and kept himself in shape. wanyama rocked up having not looked after himself for the best part of a year and was pretty much retired and coasting. Wanyama needs to show he’s prepared to change his lifestyle and get back to full fitness before we should offer him anything. He’s a Lennon fav so he’ll likely get a deal this week if he wants it. He’ll be worth millions so spending the summer and the next year doing the hard yards without a holiday for a few thousand a week it a big test! 65. Author: GJS93 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 22:12 "You’ve just named 3 players who, when fit, are very influential players for us. Apart from that , they are all still under contract." and are part of the reason we are where we are, we need better than those 3 which is definitely not coming from the 4 out of contract midfielders that they are still talking to. 66. Author: PARrot Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 22:50 Parsfangaz, Wed 7 May 16:34 Good job we have you and Bamba. I hope Lennon has the sense to bounce his thoughts off you before making any important decisions. It would be foolish to ignore all that experience. Reply |
67. Author: Berry Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 23:00 I’m in the minority on Oakley-Boothe, I think there is definitely a player there. Thought he got a bit of a hard time all because he wasn’t running about everywhere but whenever I’ve seen him he’s looked good, and his football brain just seems better than others. Difficult to stand out in a poor team so think better players will bring the best out of him. Reply |
68. Author: Parsfangaz Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 23:18 PARrot, Wed 7 May 22:50 Just a pity the last 4 managers never had that sense and just maybe we wouldn’t have been stuck with the horrendous squad we have all had to endure for the last 4/5 years Reply |

70. Author: Stanza Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 23:54 Good luck to all those who are leaving, and thanks for your efforts. Some will have been expecting to leave, for others it might have come as a very unwelcome shock. It`s a harsh business, but there are lots of examples of players released from one club who go on to have good careers with other clubs. _________________ ![]() Reply |
71. Author: da_no_1 Date: Thu 8th May 2025. 00:13 Maybe it`s a sign of the times but I`m just not that fussed about any of the released guys, Comrie apart. Really disappointed in guys like Wotherspoon, expected much more from him. The rest seem like good guys, but most have had a decent run with us and time after time have been shown up as average at best. I`m sick of spending good money watching us p1ss about in 8th or 9th all season. It`s unacceptable. Looking forward to new signings that can really light the place up. 73. Author: GG Riva Date: Thu 8th May 2025. 07:08 I don`t know how accurate this is, but a mate was told that Comrie was offered a new contract and turned it down. He`s been travelling through from the West for a few years now, and it may be that his agent has found him a club nearer home. All the best, Aaron. A consummate professional and a fine player who has always given 100% every time he stepped on the pitch. Not least, a warm, humble and very likeable young man. ![]() Not your average Sunday League player. Reply |

Just need to get the best out of him. I`m confident Lennon could do that. Reply |
