We’re back to McPake & Tidser football this half. Over playing, little movement and every slow and ponderous…..don’t know where this half has come from but we have gone backwards in comparison to Tuesday night.

Well done to Mehmet for a cracking save to keep the scores level 👏🏻

We`ve got no penetration. Otoo can`t do it. Andrew Tod`s not looking like getting any through balls. Cooper, well he`d run on to something if we could play it through. We get to their 18 yard box and pass it about a bit and lose it. That`s the half in a nutshell. A big half to come?

Don`t think the pitch is helping.
Seems quite sticky. Both sets of players struggling on it.
Very boring first half.

A very frustrating watch so far.

Stirling Albion playing a reasonably solid shape, first to many second balls and breaking fairly well on occasion.

We look anxious. Kearney not being as effective on the right as he was last game, Otoo getting a lot more of the ball and mostly doing nothing with it. Even when there seems to be a lot of space in front of him and a simple run and cross would do, he seems to cut back 3 times in 4, which slows us way down.

Cooper and Young not really gelling yet, with a couple of one twos going awry.

We also look nervy at the back - JCM and Bene in particular.

Deniz had to make a couple of saves.

Need a lot more drive in the second half.

Very poor first half.

Not direct enough.

We need to sign someone to play on the left

Not enough movement from the forwards.

At least we got Cooper signed up for 3 more years, don`t need anyone else.

Seriously, get a grip.

If we score another, who goes through us or Morton?

Ignore that, need an airdrie or Alloa goal now! Looks unlikely.

We need Ayr to get something from the game (v St Mirren) tomorrow then ? If a draw we need Ayr on Pens too as a St Mirren penalty win would take them to 9 points and a better GD.

Didn`t play particularly well, but a 2-0 victory. That the important thing. Confident penalty by Rory Mcleod.

Three wins in summary, with a defeat to Hearts, cant complain about that. Young team, still learning so more to come over the season hopefully.

Better second half. Honestly, I think our starting 11 looked a bit tired. Third game in a week for many of them. Subs definitely helped - McLeod, KRH, Ngwenya, Hamilton, Bray all brought energy.

Positives
- another great goal by Tod - the more he shoots early, on instinct, the better.
- Mcleod looked good when he came on - creative, buzzing, wanted the ball and took a perfect penalty.
- Bray looked better and quite direct. Shame he couldn`t have lifted his chance over Gaston.
- KRH looked more dangerous than we have seen for a while, albeit against lower league opposition.
- Ngwenya looked like he was trying to play the LWB role and to be honest, looked a bit more likely to beat his man than Otoo had.
- No injuries. SA were a bit wild at times, especially when they tired, so glad we got through the game.

Hope the others get a rest and come back fresh for the league.

Obviously we need depth and experience in the squad as it showed today that the same first 11 can`t keep standards up with the high press when playing so many games on the bounce.

Yup, we need St Mirren not to win, or we finish 4th.
