Another win but even last years team would beat these league 2 teams and hamilton.

That would be the team that lost last year to Forfar (League 2), Livi (Champ) and Cove (League 1)?

Should ask the 2 guys in the back of the Norrie what to do, they seem to know everything about football!🤔🤣🤣🤣

I don’t use the term ever, but I’m using it today. What a couple of absolute morons they are!! Just f-k off!!

Heard a few people booing at half time. Really poor, I know the first half was not great but the league season hasn’t even started and some were booing the players because we weren’t winning at half time! Some Pars ‘fans’ are better off staying at home IMO!

I wasn`t at the match, but was watching on Pars TV. I suspect most people who boo`d were more upset about the first half "performance" as opposed to the scoreline. There was certainly not much to applaud, that`s for sure.

Same old moans from the same people,

Don’t make excuses for the minority who expect us to be PSG every week. Ok have a moan, an opinion, and a few shouts, but it’s really not acceptable at this stage booing the players if they really support the team and want them to do well. Idiots.

I didn’t boo them off at half time but I can certainly understand why some people did. It was a p*sh first half performance. Aimlessly passing it around with no real conviction to create decent chances. Despite having most of the possession Stirling created better chances than we did.

Happily the second half was miles better and we were more direct, creating much better opportunities and I felt we were unlucky not to score more goals.

All in all I left pretty happy. Still need to strengthen in a few areas if we want to do well in the championship but I’m convinced that is in hand.

You can only beat what’s in front of you I guess but I don’t think anyone knows how this team will fare in the championship but most would agree we’re some way off top 3. For all the signings etc we have made we still haven’t corrected the main failings from last season.

Big week to get a player or 2 in who is already capable of playing well in the championship.

Lost to Forfar who just escaped going into lowland league playoff , and for the second year in a row just escaped relegation to division 1

To complain about some people "booing the players because we weren’t winning at half time" is disingenuous at best. You know perfectly well that people were a bit annoyed because we`d been absolute mince in the first half, rather than because we hadn`t managed to score. Had it been me expressing my annoyance (it wasn`t) I`d have been doing so in response to how the team was set up rather than how well or badly the players did in that setup.

It was back to the worst excesses of passy-passy pish-pish and the slowness was obviously deliberate. Time after time we tried to play through them and got nowhere every time. It could have been Peter Grant and Michael Tidser in charge in that first half, and Stirling Albion were entirely comfortable and not troubled by it. They didn`t look like making a mistake because they were never forced to do any real defending and it made for a dire half.

Thankfully, the second half was miles better. It took a while to score but from half-time on we managed to hold some pressure and pretty much ditched the slow and boring stuff completely. If you force a team to defend for long spells, usually chances will come eventually and so it was today. It was a nice finish from Andy Tod after missing an absolute sitter not long before. Their keeper also had a couple of good saves before we scored so we definitely had a decent number of sescond half chances.

In terms of where we are, not really sure. If Gilmour continues as he`s been, he`ll probably end up as my favourite this season - definitely the kind of player I find easy to like. John Tod has been mixed in the games I`ve seen - a lot of good stuff, but sometimes I think he could do with remembering he`s a defender and do the basics first. Given his age, it`s pretty impressive where he is as a player, but I hope we`re not going to be relying on him playing pretty much every game. Up front, it`s still a big concern just how far our level drops when Kane isn`t available.

On Lennon`s 3-4-1-2 shape, I`m not yet convinced. Against Hamilton in particular, when we were getting pulled apart time after time on our right, it looked like we really needed to go to a back 4. Obviously, the lack of a recognised right-back makes that difficult but I`d like us to find a way of playing that if we have to, even if a back 3 is preferred.

Happy new season, all. Hope this one is a bit better than of late.

I agree with the majority of your post but this is just nonsense. Boo-ing is a direct criticism of the players, clearly they can hear that as they leave the pitch. It can only be bad for their morale and shows a lack of support. As already stated, it’s counterproductive and unacceptable at this stage of the season.

So it not acceptable to voice your displeasure on the 1st half performance at home against one of the weakest teams in the spfl....

We went on to win 2-0……clearly the booing really affected them 😂

Had the wee one along to her first game today - not a fan of the noise but her headphones (and my phone) helped to quell that for her the most part. For 4 years old Im shocker how well she behaved!

Played ok, the win really only coming after Stirling tired. Good finish from Tod for his goal, but his miss earlier was a shocker!

We still need a LWB (Otoo end product not there), creative midfielder and a really good striker (would like Shaw) - not too fussed about a starting keeper but we do need another in the door.

What section of the Norrie and row? 😂 its a big stand….:

We have a new keeper as confirmed elsewhere - Mason Munn - or do you mean a third one?

Back left hand corner if you’re sitting in it. Second or third row from the back!

While the first half wasn’t great … it’s was clear we are comfortable and technically good with the ball in tight spaces. And have a bit of dig to win it back.
The second half improved a lot for two reasons… we did all the good stuff of the 1st half at much greater pace … and Stirlings legs had gone by 60 minutes. Up against like for like fitness levels that might have been a draw.

Good to know then. Strange to tell a group of 100 fans before the rest of the fan base though 😂
