Yeah McPake seemed lovely as he called out fans on social media for a scrap. Top bloke and even better manager.

As decent guy, I liked James McPake and really hoped things would go well for him. Maybe he was too nice with the players and not demanding enough.

don’t think anyone can question McPake as a guy, he was always decent enough with the fans when he spoke. The problem was he handed out contract extensions to the wrong players. The football wasn’t great even when we won the league, and once we went up, his tactics were quickly found out at Championship level.

That`s one interpretation. Another is that he did what was asked of him by getting us into the Championship and keeping us there; then the board didn`t support him in the transfer market. I suspect that`s what he`ll be telling the Airdrie board if he gets an interview.

I suspect it will be Eck, however you can always twist the truth to fit the agenda. Good spin doctors make a living out of it

I think McPake had a rough time with us, it was the correct decision to sack him, but I think the club were more to blame.

First season in Championship we were fine before the worst injury crisis I can remember, we were running on fumes.

Next season was a recruitment car crash, one goalie, etc. we seemed to have guys on trial forever before going somewhere else.most of that was on the owners as we had to panic sign ageing has been etc.

I wish him luck, he`s limited but he surely has another full time gig in him

That`s not what woke means.

The guy suggested something absolutely disgusting in relation to a little girl. Absolute sicko.

He mentioned he’s coming off Twitter because of a “muppet” on there. From about 12 mins to 21 he talks about his time at Dunfermline and he says he doesn’t blame the pitch for the poor results and actually spoke quite well about "the chairman" , said he was decent.

Yeah, I really enjoyed listening to him and was glad to hear he wasn’t making excuses either.

I thought he spoke really well about the chairman too, especially when you compare it to some of the comments you see about him on here.

One part I found particularly interesting was when Si Ferry asked if there was anything he’d do differently in future. He explained that when he first joined the club, the owners’ expectation was simply to reach the League 1 play-offs. Then, once promotion was achieved, the focus shifted to just staying in the league. He admitted he just accepted that at the time, but in hindsight, he was surprised by the defeatist attitude around the place. He genuinely felt the club should be aiming for the Premiership, and said in the future, he’d be more demanding and push to raise the standards.

He also spoke about how the lack of data analysis and how he wished he had appointed someone when he had the opportunity to. Players were asking for footage and analysis data, and he was having to send them away until after training, then sit and do it himself in the afternoon. Obviously that’s an area that’s improved now, which can only be a good thing.

Maybe a bit naïve from him that there was “no pressure”. he should have nipped that at the time. The board wanted playoffs, but McPake wanted to win league 1. Then in the Championship the board’s target was avoiding relegation while McPake wanted to push for playoffs. He spoke well about the fanbase too.

Said when you lose games, especially younger players, they tend to hide behind the excuse of “we never went over that in training” instead of taking responsibility never mentioned which team he experienced this at though.

McPake wanted an analyst but it wasn’t seen as a big priority by the Germans. He gave the example of Josh Edwards wanting to go over clips on a Monday, but they had to tell him to wait until the mcpake or dave clipped it up. Pretty criminal in this day and age that we never had one.

Thought Dave Honeyman was our data analyst? 🤔 if not, what is/was his purpose?
