DBP said: A degree educated graduate with no experience will be on at least £45k with most edinburgh financial institutions and consultancies.

FFS... are you serious? £45k? Generally, Australians` pay is slightly higher than in the UK, but the salary for a graduate you quote is way out of kilter with reality. $36,000 should be about right. The Pars may be quoting a wee bit low, but there`s a thing called negotiation.

What year was that? Australian graduates can earn double that! The UK average (according to Google) is slightly less at £40k (obviously an average so it can be higher or lower depending on the field of work).

However, this is for someone with a couple of years under their belt rather than a new graduate! Really low pay IMO.

£2.3k a month around £28k a year before tax? isn’t exactly life changing money when you factor in the qualifications they’re asking for. UEFA C (and the cost this costs to aquire) plus a degree, on top of the fact you’re probably expected to live and breathe the game.

Analyst gigs at that level usually mean long days prepping during the week, endless video work, reports, travelling to away games, then weekends taken up with matches so probably 6 or 7 days a week. It’s not a “9 to 5 type of gig.

That said, I`d assume it`s the going rate in the Championship. Most likely be a guy who is a pars supporter that holds these types of qualifications that will get the gig. I sure the physio is a pars supporter.

c'mon the pars

Y, sounds like it`s for a fan, or someone already in the game.

The key attraction is working for a football club-its certainly a conversation starter, we don`t pay high salaries, I think the attraction is working inside the game.

If you had a side hustle -and I would expect someone with this background will have, then its attractive.

Lloyds current graduate trainee starting salary is £45k
Current graduate trainee position at my place is c.£40-45k (but it’s not a bank)
My middle one’s starting salary as graduate 3yrs ago at a competitor to my place was £44k
My oldest one started as a graduate - totally different domain and not financial services on over £40k and that was a while back

I think it`s fair to say that no one saw that appointment coming!

ETA - His first signing is going to be Charlie Telfer apparently.
