I doubt any other player in the squad could have come up with the pass he made to Rory Macleod for his goal at Perth. Lack of ability isn`t Caceres` problem, it`s probably the physicality of the Scottish Championship. Reply |
| 46. Author: GJS93 Date: Fri 2nd Jan 2026. 12:19 a different factor to consider with Caceres, with their first child on the way could he and his other half want to go back home and be with family? going through the current squad of 25 and maybe half of them you could see different reasons as to why they could end up leaving, there will be changes its a case of how many in total. | 47. Author: Berkey Date: Fri 2nd Jan 2026. 18:16 Looks like no late present this week after all? I’m sure caceres will be better when the pitches improve in the spring. Wee eck the assist at st Johnstone is the only highlight in 4 months. Give me one other example where he’s impacted a game in any way (don’t say thistle!). There’s absolutely a player there but this season is an acclimatising one so we’ve brought him in to play very little in a physical league so it’s just not going to work. McLeod should prob be on loan in league 1 this season with a view to next season but the way the squad is balanced he’s ended up playing a lot more games than I’m guessing was planned. Give me one other example where he’s impacted a game in any way (don’t say thistle!).` There`s more to `assists` than making the final pass to the goalscorer, although those who are obsessed with statistics might think otherwise. I remember Caceres being involved in early build-ups which led to goals in the big wins at Arbroath and Airdrie and he did in fact make the final pass for Tod`s opening goal at Gayfield. I`ve always suspected we were `bounced` into taking him from Sheffield United to free up a loan slot for a defensive player they wanted but I do think NL rates him. it`s just a case of finding the right role for him. He`s by far the best passer of a ball in the squad. I also think you can develop some young players by playing them in the first team if you get the balance of the team right. The only way they`ll get better is by playing with and against better players and they won`t necessarily get that in League 1. Reply |
| 54. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Fri 2nd Jan 2026. 19:39 Berkey, Fri 2 Jan 18:16 I’ve said before that I am disappointed with Caceres. I don’t think his performances have been anything to write home about and are definitely not of the level that would interest a club like Sheff United originally. That aside, for me, the highlight of his season so far was his performance against Arbroath earlier in the season. He was highly influential that day and was involved in much of the good work going forward, especially in the First Half. I thought that was him clicking and he would go from strength to strength from there, but it’s not happened yet. Still, the lad has time. Loving You, Is In My DNA 🇾🇪 Reply |

He`s a young lad, trying to learn a new language in a foreign land, as well as trying to cement a starting place in the Pars first team. I suggest you listen to his interview which appeared on this forum recently, to get an idea of just how difficult his situation is for him. ![]() Not your average Sunday League player. Reply |
| 58. Author: Jealous Furniture Date: Fri 2nd Jan 2026. 19:54 We have a few young players in the attacking mid role & not much between them so far. I think Lennon`s rotating them to keep them hungry & to see if one will claim the spot as their own. I don`t think we`ll loan any out unless we get an attacking mid in that will be a guaranteed starter. Then again I didn`t imagine Connor Young would get loaned out... Fisher seems the obvious one to move on, he`s hardly had a kick & hasn`t looked great when he has got on the pitch. Being honest, Otto is completely out of favour now, last resort at CM (1 game there this season?) and behind even Ngwenya now for a CB spot. A striker is the priority, I`d like an experienced box-to-box mid too, I think we`d be in trouble if Gilmour was to pick up an injury Reply |

| 60. Author: PARadise Date: Fri 2nd Jan 2026. 22:17 Wouldn’t mind a loan for Andy Halliday to the end of the season. As mentioned above there is a bit of a gap if Gilmour was to get injured/lose form and would add good experience to the squad. Halliday was one of Wells better players last season but is out of sorts with the new manager. Reply |
