It`s because of the way he has performed, every time he comes on, when he has displayed game intelligence and a goal threat that others are not showing or don`t even have. People cast up that when he has started, he has not had the same affect. While that may be true, perhaps he has developed as a player and is now showing his full potential? It certainly should not debar him from starting in the future. Other players who are starting have been disappointing so perhaps they should have a spell on the bench and see if they can make a difference if they are called upon? Seemed to work for Andy Tod on Friday. Reply |

But after he subbed the 2 wingers we looked brilliant maybe it was a case of they wanted us to go down the line all the time and Tod and cooper weren’t having that Reply |

But you gotta factor in that, anyone who starts is up against opponents on fresh legs, whereas later in the game they might have lost a bit of edge. No doubt that`s been floated before. And NL has probably tried both ways - big guns on from the start versus keeping some for subs. He knows we need another player as a goal-threat in attack - someone to alternate with Kane. Until we get an extra CF with similar presence and contribution that Kane makes, whoever starts up front is a gamble. Reply |

He gave the Raith right back a physical battering right from the start and I rate the Raith lad..imagine having that battle with Rudden then he goes off and having to go up against Todd who will get the ball down and take you on? Plus knowing a fresh Cooper playing off him.. Todd needed dropped as he has not been playing well but Lennon got it right with the 2 physical lads up top as long balls we’re always played to Rudden snd he won his fair share. I would go with the exact team if all fit against Arbroath…apart from the 2 goal scoring opportunities Raith had we were solid. I would give Morrison a start against Arbroath and let him know he needs to shield the ball better and take players on..He is just inconsistent week in/out…maybe it’s confidence but he would be the first to be dropped. I would deffo keep the same line up for Arbroath. Reply |

As a youngster, two of my favourite players were Tony Green (Newcastle and Scotland) and Luigi Riva (Italy). Josh has got that kind of elegance and style. And he scores sexy goals, e.g. at Tynecastle and v RR last time out. They`re Josh specials, what they call these days, his signature goals. Josh! I think cooper is less likely to be bullied. It would be interesting to see how the Ugandan does (really can’t remember his name) as I think he’s the most talented with the ball at his feet in the squad but away at Arbroath isn’t always about being great with a ball at your feet. Basically I think Cooper could have a big role for us on Saturday COYP Reply |
