All players and supporting staff etc.will have been throughly vetted beforehand.

Ordinary punters need to pass the ESTA application - there will be much more scrutiny on official team squads.

Some folks hereabouts are getting carried away by this ICE scenario.

Now tho, there`s the real possibility of watching Iran v Egypt, and the game being interrupted by ICE agents storming the penalty box and detaining the goalie live on tv.

What chance have you got when folk come out with utter p*sh like that.

Given what we`ve witnessed in the last 18 months, please explain how it`s utter p!sh, and not at least a slight concern to some?

Scary thing is folk like you are allowed to vote.

Fake news, eh? Give it a rest.

That’s the perfect counter argument to facts and figures 👍🏻

I think it’s mental that some folk think they’re above everyone can say something about other people voting and think it’s a smart thing to say.

It just shows personal arrogance to me like.

It`s mental that you think that, because the Guardian prints a daily column apologising for typos, mis-spellings, etc, we shouldn`t believe anything else in it. You should apply for a job in Trump`s publicity team.

Most politicians tell mistruths but Trump tells blatant lies. He sounds like my kids when they were young. Complete fantasy at times. "We`re gonna build the bestest thing because we`re the greatest." Okay, Donald, time for your nap.

I don’t think I’ve found a politician that hasn’t lied. I mind my dad used to say that the tories don’t care about you and never forget it.

Well now that I’ve looked into each of our political parties north and south of the border I’ve came to the conclusion that none of them care. Certainly none of the main people in each party. It’s all a drive for power, clicks, likes and ultimately votes. The SNP annoy me the most because they were the ones that had a real opportunity to make a difference and they’ve turned out as bad.

I really don’t know who I’m going to be voting for in the future. Who ever believes in a smaller government and greater individual freedoms but at the moment that’s none of them.

It probably should have been the Tories but they aren’t actually acting like the tories anymore. They’re closer to new Labour than a conservative political party.

I don’t know what the Guardian having to write apologies and corrections on a regular basis has to do with an observation about people thinking their own personal beliefs are greater than others so there’s no point in voting but at least you’ve got that out your system 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Well some of us didn`t understand what it had to do with the article which triggered this thread. You`re just like Trump who can`t seem to deal with more than one item at a time.

Im not sure you can say the SNP don’t care entirely. They have more good policies (a slightly higher tax setting for more free products for all) than bad (pushing gender politics in policy).

You also need to remember that the Scottish party in charge, whoever it may be, is hamstrung by the Barnett Formula. If we had complete control of all of our own finances, we may just be ran better no matter who is in charge.

Corruption in politics is a completely new level these days though, but again the SNP corruption is nowhere near the levels of the other parties - and anyone that thinks Reform will be better with this is completely delusional.

Got to remember that corruption and incompetence are also different entities.

The SNP`s biggest issue is it`s obsession with putting a tartan ribbon on everything rather than just copying or making use of UK solutions when it would make more sense to.

The SNP aren`t great performers tbh, but they`re the least worst IMO.

Are there any devolved issues where UK solutions would be preferable to Scottish ones? What`s wrong with `putting a tartan ribbon` on prescriptions, bus passes, tuition fees, the Scottish Child Payment, Scottish Water, Scotrail, etc? The problem is the UK government doesn`t want devolution to work because it might give Scots the idea that independence might work too. Look at the way they scuppered the Deposit Return Scheme. It may have been flawed but there were plenty similar schemes working elsewhere and it could have worked with a bit of cooperation. We`re still waiting on the UK-wide scheme of course.

And we're still waiting to hear what the democratic route out of this 'voluntary union' is.

I`m talking about systems and processes. Things like digitising council and NHS services and the NHS app. Scotland has wasted millions on its own version of an NHS app and it`s utter crap.

I`m not suggesting we don`t do our own thing where there is specific, local requirements, but why spend a fortune reinventing the wheel?

No, they`re developing the data platform. That`s costing millions. No doubt Scotland will design it`s own 🙄

The Covid vaccine roll out was another example where the UK digital booking solution was undeniably superior to Nicola’s retro ‘wait for your letter’ system.
