Err... Excuse me, chaps, but what have all the more recent posts on this thread got to do with folk going over to Trumplandia for the WC and making sure they don`t get banged up in some detention centre? šŸ¤”

To get back on track (kind of) did you see the news the other day that Scots wearing kilts will be allowed to wear sporrans as well, despite your average sporran exceeding the permitted size of a `bag`? I hope that doesn`t give anyone with bad intentions the incentive to try and spoil the party.

Will they need to check what`s in the sporran though? Also, couldn`t they just turn it round and claim it`s a "fanny pack"

Yes, factually correct but somewhat understates the cost in my opinion jake

Definitely. Now imagine Scotland decides to do the same but can`t possibly copy the English approach. £330m among 60m people is a lot less than among 5.6m.

Dave_1885 I actually agree with some of your points however, I think the excuses they use are well past their sell by date. It feels like pantomime to me. As much as I absolutely love pumping England, England isn’t to blame for all of Scotlands problems.

And as much as I’m happy to pay a bit extra tax so we can all benefit, I’m not seeing enough positive change or benefits. At the moment it looks like more tax = a bigger government. To me that’s not really a positive thing. They can’t even build a ferry. The at-least Ā£200,000,000 Glen Saxon is again out of commission until March 6th. There’s the ongoing SNP financial scandal, public service failures and warnings the NHS in Scotland ā€œcannot be sustained in its current formā€, the widening poverty related attainment gap, we are building fewer homes than we should be, Angela Constance misrepresenting expert advice and being accused of misleading parliament regarding the grooming gangs scandal etc etc it just goes on and on.

But according to Big JS it’s alright because rich kids get free university education (that costs the tax payer nearly Ā£1billion a year), my daughter got taught how gay guys do the boogy woogy and my son was taught it’s okay to think he’s a girl when he was 4. Thankfully he told them he wants to be a fire engine when he grows up eh! We once had a world leading education system. It’s been absolutely torn to shreds under SNP leadership.

I’m just going to vote for who I think will be most competent but I promise, it won’t be the SNP.

What school taught your son about transgender people at 4?

I suppose your neighbour`s cousin`s daughter`s son was told to use the class litter tray as a toilet tae NMCmassive?

And was your wife`s boyfriend`s best pal`s neice forced to sing Bah-bah Rainbow Sheep at nursery last tuesday?

Did you get fined yet for referring to your wheelie bin as black instead of grey?

Sorry mate, my wife doesn’t have a boyfriend. You really shouldn’t assume that’s Norma for anyone else.

How’s your mrs getting on with hers?

If anyone is interested you should look into tie.scot - that’s who tried the whole gender chat with the my wee man. Thankfully he was absolutely clueless about whatever it was they were saying.

But to quote their website ā€œIn primary schools, LGBT Inclusive Education will typically begin with discussions about diverse families, including storybooks that feature same-sex parents. Other important topics throughout primary are addressing prejudice and bullying, and challenging gender stereotypesā€

An overview of LGBTQ teaching from the education.gov.scot website šŸ‘‡šŸ»

1. Early primary (around age 4–7, P1–P3)

At this stage the focus is mainly on kindness, respect, and different types of families, not detailed discussions of gender identity.

Typical examples:
• Storybooks showing different family types (e.g., two mums or two dads).
• Lessons about treating everyone fairly and not bullying others.
• Discussions that boys and girls can like different things and stereotypes aren’t always true. ļæ¼

Some teaching materials also explain:
• Sex is assigned at birth.
• Gender relates to how someone feels about themselves. ļæ¼

I’ve only highlighted the stuff about what my son was taught at that age but he’s older than that now.

I honestly don`t see what from the above you can disagree with without being an outright bigot, maybe you can explain in more detail but none of those bullet points are anything I`d have the slightest issue with, they seem quite positive and fairly soft

I for one am massively offended that the Scottish Government is telling LITTLE GIRLS that they don`t have to be typists or dressmakers. How very dare they. It weren`t like this back in my day! Girls knew their place. They`d be working in the shop or in the typing pool until one of us blokes offered to marry them, and they`d be grateful!

Honestly, all the Tie piece explains to Primary School kids is not to be homophobic little wankers and that it`s fine for girls to be "tom boys" or boys to play with dolls. This is very much needed and I can give an example - a girl in my son`s class has always been a "Tom boy". Plays for a girls football team and has always been more rough and tumble than the girls in the class. They`re at high school now and my son informed me some of the kids have been calling her a "tranny". The parents of the kids involved have been made aware so hopefully that`s the end of it, but why kids in 2026 are still using "tranny", "gay" and "paedo" as every day insults is concerning.

I can tell by your response, you’re either ignorant of who the government used for guidance on trans policy or worse-lying to feel like you’ve won an argument on a forum.

LGBT youth Scotland. Child S abuse cases. There’s a nice wee Google search for you to start.

Who wants to explain sex and gender to 4 year olds? What is there motivation? Why do they use language like ā€œsex is assigned at birthā€? I could go on but if you can’t understand concerns in those questions, it’s not me with views that should be questioned.

You missed out the gender stuff and sex assigned at birth stuff.

You also don’t mention who came up with the policy and why they’re questionable people to be advising on policies relating to primary school children - never mind primary school children’s sexual education.

Remember, we’re discussing 4 year olds.

I`ve actually worked with LGBT Youth Scotland and they were really helpful and informative. Aware there have been scandals and that is inexcusable, but doesn`t relate to the guidance provided.

Now, can you provide details on which school(s) and what it is they`re teaching 4 year olds (allegedly)?
