Nothing will happen though. We live in a country where:

Fiddling your leccy
Not paying a TV licence
Shoplifting

Result in jail sentences in certain circumstances yet tax fraud and deception seem to be ignored. Can`t jail the rich, can we? And I don`t mean the rich earning £100k+ p/a. It`s nothing new, the only difference is it`s reported more.

As Jimmy Cricket said .. C`mere There`s More :-

The husband of Tory peer Michelle Mone is connected to a company that tax experts say should be investigated for fraud, BBC Newsnight has found.

Doug Barrowman has previously denied involvement in Vanquish Options, a firm that falsely claimed customers could write off money owed to the government.

But BBC News has identified Vanquish bosses with links to Mr Barrowman and seen emails sent by Vanquish from the same IP address as his Isle of Man HQ.
Mr Barrowman has denied any wrongdoing.

Tax experts suggest there are grounds to open a criminal investigation into Vanquish Options.

One of Mr Barrowman`s firms, PPE MedPro, is already being investigated by the National Crime Agency over contracts worth more than £200m to supply PPE to the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.

£69000000 - £200000 = £68800000

Still a tidy return for a couple of phone calls to China for blue bin bags

BBC finally picking up the information Dan Neidle posted on Sunday today.

Barrowman and Mone seem like thoroughly dislikeable people but they are part of an elite who are almost all the same.

Not sure why but it got me thinking of when it turned out Sunak owned shares (indirectly he said...) in Moderna who just happened to be awarded the vaccination contracts.

So much insider trading, scratching of backs, and lining of pockets.

From Aunty :-

A former lawyer for Baroness Mone has apologised to the BBC for false statements he made about money her husband, Doug Barrowman, gave to the Conservative Party.

Lawyer Jonathan Coad told BBC News in December 2020 that Mr Barrowman had no ownership role with a firm that has donated more than £150,000 to the Tories since 2017.

But evidence has since emerged that suggests that was not the case.
Mr Barrowman has declined to comment.

Mr Coad has already apologised for misleading journalists about Baroness Mone`s links to PPE Medpro, which is being sued by the government for supplying medical equipment worth £122m that has never been used.

PPE Medpro is defending the claim.

From the F.T. :-

About £75mn of assets linked to Conservative peer Michelle Mone and her husband have been frozen or restrained by court order as the pair face a National Crime Agency investigation into alleged PPE fraud.

The court order seen by the Financial Times covers assets including a six-bedroom Belgravia townhouse, a country estate on the Isle of Man, and 15 accounts at Coutts, C Hoare & Co and Goldman Sachs International.

The December restraint order blocks Mone and her Isle of Man-based financier husband, Douglas Barrowman, from selling some of the assets and places restrictions on others.

The order was consented to by Mone and Barrowman and followed an application by the Crown Prosecution Service under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Apparently David Mundell, former Tory Scottish Secretary, wasn`t happy with her appointment to the Lords as the Scotland Office had not been consulted as was normally the case. A lot of Scottish business people were unhappy with the appointment as they did not consider her a `substantial businesswoman` but PM David Cameron, who considered her a `leading entrepreneur`, ignored all objections.

Mone isn`t even the biggest entrepreneur in Glasgow let alone Scotland! She`s a self promoting fantasist who, whilst modestly successful, hasn`t achieved much of note.

Her social media posts suggest she`s quite chaotic, verging on unhinged.
