Even short flights has its perks - not always worth the money tho… Often used Lux-Ams-Edi, but prices vary wildly. 18th Dec, single - €180, upgrade to business, add €930 😳 Reply

So all the care workers who then brought their families in, who are now claiming for stuff would, I assume, be covered in this. Some of it would make logical sense, other stuff won`t. Reply

That’s such a myth in 2026. If we force companies to up wages again we are forcing more external pressure on the market. We’ll increase base costs and decrease the job market. COYP Reply

It`s not simply upping wages, it`s providing jobs with enough hours that a UC claim isn`t needed. The Tories are proposing a load of changes to benefits, which sound reasonably sensible, but they need to do more about wealthy companies who dodge taxes using loopholes. Reply

I think for some roles it is the other way around, folk are more readily working out what works best for them aren`t they?!? And 16 hours plus more UC is more appealing given the additional time that gives them, particularly if you move to 16+16+8 rather than 2x20. I suspect this costs the government more, but keeps the unemployment numbers down. Reply

This may change where they may qualify following granting of indefinite leave to remain. For those coming into the country under the "Boris Wave" circa 2022 and with the 5 year rule would be circa 2027. They could be eligible at that time if they are still working, household income is low, or have children. G Wardrope Reply
