161. Author: par-ticular Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 06:25 Guys, I played in a team of 13 year olds in an u16 league we were bullied and smashed by the more experienced’men’. We eventually became street wise. This will make or break the players. We also needed some experience players and I’m sure this will happen. Let’s watch how they develop, not sure the Rovers will get it as easily next time. Reply |

He’s protecting them from the media because according to the tv he’s actually ripped into them privately but don’t let that stop you having another go at the fans. For years now we’ve been less than ordinary but 2000 of the “best fans in the Championship “ turned up Friday night and the team didn’t. Reply |
163. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 07:24 Young team? It wasn’t a team of 18 year olds who let us down tonight and last season. Otoo and Hosler are 23 in the next month, boothe is 25. These guys should be better and not go hiding, the fact they are still in our team is the reason we never really looked like competing with rovers. Hopefully Lennon is just bedding Kearney and amade in and they will come into the team for the next game, the 3 above have had plenty chances and just haven’t produced anything. 164. Author: ubisanman Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 07:30 JCM was great last season but he`s obviously going through a rough patch just now. Every time he gets the ball I get a familiar feeling in my stomach. Took me ages to work out what it was. It`s the same feeling I got every time Efe Ambrose touched the ball. Reply |
165. Author: Bucuresti Par Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 07:55 JCM was poor and is making too many mistakes at the moment. However, it doesn`t help him when only Gilmour frequently looks to get on the ball and pass forward. I have some sympathy for Otoo, given that he hasn`t played central midfield this season and was a bit more lively second half, but have almost none for TOB - how many times did he touch the ball? The team`s age isn`t an excuse, we have chosen these players and the second half performance is the minimum expectation. The first half was unacceptable. Reply |
166. Author: Bigbeefcake Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 08:45 We were outfought all over the pitch. Every player rotten apart from J.Tod and Gilmour. We really need to stop being so soft in these games. Rovers seem to put the boot in by leaving one on our boys all the time and it seems to rattle us. When Stevenson took out Jr all 10 of our boys should’ve been around the referee causing a mass melee to put pressure on. Need to wisen up. It`s another big beefy bonanza at the beefcake boulevard!! 167. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 08:46 We were beaten by experience. A bit of a lesson last night for younger players. As a younger team they should grow into the season. I do think if we can bring in a striker we will be a top 4 side. Albeit we were beaten by Raith I don`t see them anything more than a mid table side this season. With tge age of their squad the will peak early season and fade away as injuries hit etc. They faded second half and I thought we were on top from about 55 minutes. We don`t have anyone who can score goals and that`s the glaring issue. I also thought NL got the team selection wrong with TOB Otoo and KRH. I didn`t think it would be the type of game for them. I think Young isn`t quite ready for this division. That`s not to say he won`t be, but he needs time to develop. Caraceres was more effective getting behind defenders. There were times in the game where we were in a good position but pushed the ball wide where we eventually lost it. Unless you get the ball into the box you aren`t going to score many. The crosses that went into the box were generally poor not allowing the players to get any power behind the header. It`s fine lines in my view and we are a striker away from being a good team G Wardrope Reply |

170. Author: Ianoappar Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 09:06 Carrying to many passengers in the game, KRH Otoo Boothe to name a few,and Mullens mistake and goalkeeper should have done better. Improvement in the second half but damage was done, and Lennon takes some of the blame with his starting 11. Reply |
171. Author: Garvockpar14 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 10:55 Well what a disappointment that turned out to be after all the positivity following the Airdrie game. We are beaten by two sloppy goals completely of our own making but in reality, we were way off it in general play. We looked naive and were bullied. Raith are not a good team but were effective in what they did which makes it all the more upsetting to lose to meekly. Looking back, I don`t remember being too surprised when I saw the line up. Moving Otoo into midfield felt like a good idea but in retrospect it was completely the wrong team. I`m still not sure what Otoo`s best position is? He was anonymous last night and Oakley - Boothe wasn`t in the game at all. There will be games this season where we have lots of control and possession and maybe he suits that style, but his game completely lacked the physicality and dig required last night. I don`t understand why Amade has not been starting but surely his time has come. He changed the game and looks an excellent player at this level. Gilmour probably our best player again, looks a find and hopefully a mainstay of the team for a long time to come. Defensively, Mullen again looked suspect. For every meandering exciting run forward there was another heart stopping loose pass. I don`t think he is suited at all to playing in a ball three where he has to cover the right side and play more football. He is probably better in the middle of a flat back four. If we had another option at CB maybe a reality check and some time out the team would do him some good, but there are no other options. Hopefully with time and patience he can realise his excellent potential. Bene had his usual game, slow and caught with a couple of long balls, but won a lot in the air and saved is with a couple of last ditch blocks. I like J. Tod more with every game. A shaky start, was even beaten by McMullen in the air, but his quality and potential are fantastic and he is destined for greater things. Hopefully he is here long enough to enjoy some great times in a Pars shirt. Young again showed that he is not yet up to to it at this level. Offered very little and our lack of threat up front is still concerning. I agree he will be third choice if / when another striker is signed. Caceres did enough when he came on to suggest he could be a quality addition at this level - looked exciting and caused Raith a few problems at least. Kearney looked to offer more on the right side when he came on as well. KRH another that can be added to the `posted missing` list with Otoo, TOB and Young. There will be more games like that this season. There will also be plenty more enjoyable ones like the Airdrie game. Hopefully Lennon and the players have learned from it. For me, another experienced CB is required and we absolutely must sign a proven goal scorer if we have any ambitions of top 4. KRH, Oakley - Boothe, Young and Otoo are probably not going to be regular starters as the season goes on and I hope Amade is given a chance against Reply |
172. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 11:07 I am sure NL will take the positive from the game but equally will be honest about the negatives. Morale is important so for me its about playing to your strengths and working on your weaknesses. The plus for me from last night`s game is the quality we have available on the bench. We have room to improve in the season ahead. It shouldn`t be players heads going down after the defeat but look at what we need to work on. G Wardrope Reply |
173. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 11:16 I would also say I`m glad we didn`t get Dylan Easton. He has 60 minutes in his legs on a good day. A bit like Owen Moffat. We need to set our sights a bit higher I think personally. We need a striker around 27-28 with first team experience who can play 90 minutes. Not many of them around unfortunately G Wardrope Reply |
174. Author: Jock Par36 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 11:34 Disappointing result, but we can play a lot better than we did. I really think that the playing surface didn`t suit our style of play. Whereas the Rovers are very used to it. We will get a lot better. Reply |
175. Author: Ahoy!Ahoy! Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 11:36 One thing we learned from last night is that KRH and TOB shouldn’t be starting next week with Kearney and Amade the first names on the team sheet. Really hope to see some player brought in this week as window shuts a week on Sunday. Reply |
176. Author: 87Par Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 11:54 Raith went in with the bully boy tactics it was a game for Chris Hamilton needed someone to stick the boot in big style. Think the line up was wrong as has been stated. Hopefully see changes for the next game. We`ll beat them at EEP. Not getting too downbeat 3 games in. Reply |
177. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 12:05 They said after the game Easton was back from injury and hadn’t trained for 2 weeks but was grateful he was done after 60minutes. To me it feels like we might win more of the games against teams like airdrie and Arbroath this season but against your bigger more physical teams like Ross county, Raith, Ayr and st Johnstone we’ll likely get bullied out of it. We’ll also likely struggle to get much away from home but nothing new there. What a worry for me is gilmour and the centre backs aside, we win nothing in the air and still don’t win enough second balls, our throw ins go straight to the opposition and we ca’t build any momentum. Half the time we don’t even compete in the air which is a bigger worry. This is not a league for shrinking voilets and we had too many on the park yesterday. Kane, Jefferson and Kearney will make a huge difference to this team, they are replacing dead wood, the rest need get streetwise very quickly and learn to do the ugly stuff. Hopefully we’re not finished out business in the market, feels like we need more than just another striker. We defo need a Center back although not sure what’s happened to Davidson but obv we have that court case coming up and at the moment we can’t rely on mullan not to sell the shirt every week. 180. Author: jake89 Date: Sat 23rd Aug 2025. 13:43 Easton played a pivotal role last night. He`s a player you love to hate but he`s a decent guy, and I have to laugh that he`s probably heading towards the end of his career and has done the Rovers out a long deal. He`ll guaranteed do well as a coach once he hangs up his boots. He was brilliant with the youngsters in the JC Academy. Reply |
