I think Barney has been our most successful loan signing in recent years. He is still raw but has come on leaps and bounds with us. He has been good for us and for Falkirk. It epitomises the benefit of the loan system but simultaneously highlight what is wrong with the structure of the leagues in Scotland I.e. lack of opportunity for young players to develop.

Hat trick against the Rovers, last goal scored in front of the Pars fans...kiss the badge in celebrations and we`ll have him back at EEP very quickly 🤣

Having seen both clubs at close quarters Barney must have some interesting views on the respective merits of the Pars and Falkirk, especially considering he apparently had no prior knowledge of the fierce rivalry between the clubs.

You have to commend Falkirk`s scouting system for unearthing such a gem from the lower tiers of Scottish football. At the same time we showed some imagination in seeing the potential of a loan deal and the audacity to suggest it to such bitter rivals. It`s worked out brilliantly for both clubs and for the player.

I’ve a feeling that Stewart will be at Falkirk until at least the end of January. Falkirk are probably needing him for cover until they perhaps get bodies in. I think the lad wants to stay and I think the club and the fans do too.

The club won’t pay Falkirk’s asking price.

Not ÂŁ500k anyway but nobody in this league is worth that money. However, deals can be made in other ways. Here`s hoping.

Where did the ÂŁ500,00 figure come from ?

It`s well less and the club is not going there.

Probably a Falkirk fan on Pie and Bovril.

Well, we asked him to cap his time with us by scoring the winner at San Starko, and he did precisely that.
Thank you Barney. I hope this is not the end.

He will be ours come the end of the window. Threw his shirt into the crowd. He won’t get a good run at Falkirk. Back by February for a fee at the end of the season.

If he gets any time on the park at Falkirk in Jan, he can only return to us after that due to the “two teams in a season” rule.

Hopefully they give him 5 minutes in first week of Jan, then he wants out at end of month……

I wasn`t sure about Barney in his first game, but I put it down to lack of first team games. He has come on leaps and bounds under the coaching staff and looks more and more like a natural goal scorer. Personally, I think he would benefit from the remainder of the season with us to smooth out those rough edges. Not sure he will get regular game time at Falkirk just yet, but may be wrong. He has clearly enjoyed his time with us, and he is one of those few players who has delivered as a loan signing. I wish him the very best of luck in his future career.

He came to us on the back of having had an injury and therefore no pre-season. Understandably his first game for us was rather poor, but he improved with every game after that.

He averaged a goal every 88 mins over all his games for us, he`ll be hard to replace

Sad to see the big guy go.

Infectious character and a bloody good goal scorer. Pity we can`t sign him.

Absolutely!

Hopefully we see him again.

No mention of the lucky Pars fan that caught his top?

It’s all been said already but gutted to be losing him, but wish him well.

I said it in the match thread, but I suspect he’ll not want to go back, he’s playing, he’s scoring and he’s loved by the fans…why would be want to go back to Falkirk and play second fiddle??
