I feel the same.I think it`s just that Oli Shaw is clearly available (I think he is signed up next season also) due to Hamiltons finances- quite rightly they are having a fire sale.

But he`s 28 this year, we would have to match Shaws terms with Accies- no one knows what they are, but clearly that`s put everyone off, so he must have some contract.

I think we have enough at the moment, and I think Young on loan at E Kilbride is a big t of a waste- we already know he can bang them in at a top club in 4th tier, he`s on a long contract with us, so why not loan him to a 3rd tier club, he needs to improve

I agree. I also think the same about Sam Young. He could do it playing at a higher level than Tranent.

Hey will probably come up this year so that’s better than Tranent. 👍

It`s nice to see these guys being loaned and tested at a level as close to our own as possible.

Kelty seems an obvious shout for a cooperation agreement in future? They are local and anyone 16-21 could go there and be recalled at any time should we need them. Our squad is young and you could write a list of players that could go there, helping us and helping Kelty.

Connor Young hasn’t proved he’s good enough above League 2 so far. Even in a struggling team, he didn’t look up to it last time in a pars shirt.

Players can only go where offers are made, and the fact that both him and Sam Young ended up at Tranent and East Kilbride tells you that no League 1 side really fancied them.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Tbf, it`s arguably more difficult to look good in a struggling team. Playing in a team of good players full of confidence, on the other hand.....

Maybe no League 1 side needed players in the position these boys play in, or the players themselves had a choice and opted for the clubs they went on loan to?

Not your average Sunday League player.

Think Sam Young played really well in the few first team games played. Connor Young played in a bad team and had no support. Think he needs some experience and maturity and he will improve.

"Championship leaders St Johnstone have made an offer to snap up Hamilton Accies star striker Oli Shaw, Lanarkshire Live Sport can reveal"

"And it is understood the Perth outfit have made an offer in the region of £30,000 as Saints boss Simo Valakari tries to lure one of Hamilton`s highest paid stars away from Lanarkshire"

"It is believed Accies have knocked back Saints` bid for the 27-year-old and are holding out for more"

Always been a natural finisher. Must be 35 now though.

On Connor young, I think he deserves a chance when he comes back. The team he was brought into was woeful and didn’t create a lot of chances, he’ll get more chances with this current squad.

I agree with Bamba-Daft……

Give Connor Young & any other fringe players a chance with the current squad. We could be sitting on a gem. I have faith in our coaching staff to unearth them.

Surprisingly perhaps, Greig Spence is only 33. It also surprised me that his strike-rate is less than a goal every 3 games.

Eddie Spence. He was involved with the Swifts.
