Sidibehs departure from STJ confirmed.

Shaw move possibly more likely now

Fowler from Queens Park is their preferred target. Accused turned them down for Shaw at start of window and the are unwilling currently of offering more.

QP would be very silly letting Fowler go.
What they would get in fees would be dwarfed if they got relegated.
Pre contract much more likely.

Would probably be more beneficial to the boy as well financially.

Could also get relegated and lose him for free in the summer though, losing that extra money as it is. Swings and roundabouts really.

More from the Record -

Hibs have rejected a potential £5million-plus bid from Hellas Verona for Kieron Bowie. The Italian side tabled the offer on Tuesday afternoon, but it has been turned down. The Serie A side offered around €5million with another €1million in add-ons. Verona are keen to land the Scotland international to help them in their relegation fight.

It is likely that they will go back in over the coming days. Record Sport revealed last week there was growing Italian, German and Belgian interest in the Hibs star. Hibs’ value their prize asset far higher than the first bid and it remains to be seen if Verona or anyone else can match that valuation.

Based on what I saw a few days ago Bowie isn`t worth anywhere near that. I, genuinely, would rather have Barney than him.

I don`t think I`d rather have Barney over Bowie, but I wasn`t too impressed with him on Sat.

Hibs would do well to take the offer with a 20% sell on fee. The lad isn’t the real deal as yet from what I’ve seen.

Rudden is an out and out scorer, Kane to a lesser extent. I`d expect Andy Tod and Morrison to be either side of Rudden and/or a little deeper in our starting XI most games. Thomas might be best through the centre but could play wider as well. After that as Jealous Furniture points out, there is an array of wide forwards/wingers/attacking midfielders - Cacares, McLeod, Cooper, Bray, M Todd
KRH.

Matty Todd is clearly doing well at right wing back, but we don`t need 5 other back up options for the front 3 positions.

KRH seems furthest out the picture, but would anyone from League One be interested and be willing pay a decent chunk of his wages to take him on loan? Then maybe one of Mcleod or Bray, as the youngest they might benefit from a loan in League One.

At centre half, it will depend on Lennon`s confidence in Otoo and Hamilton to fill in, and Davidson if he can easily be recalled.

I agree with GJS93, if Fraser gets injured, there is nobody in the squad that come in and play the left wing back role to nearly the same level. Otoo really struggled there and it didn`t seem to suit Ngwenya either.

Rudden isn’t an out and out scorer. Check out his stats.

Exactly. You can only play as well as your opponents allow you to.

If you could combine Barneys finishing with Bowies movement you’ve got a £8million striker. Bowie off the ball is outstanding. The problem was he missed a free header and didn’t score 1on1. Couple of seasons he could be the best striker in Scotland. Having said that, you might be saying the same about Barney. He takes his chances and works hard. Think working with Brian Graham will do him well if he can learn a couple of things off him.

I still think going for Oli Shaw and securing him would be a huge statement of intent for what we’re trying to achieve.

Would for me really increase the odds of getting a playoff spot and set us up well for a push next season.

We have a lot of attacking options I get that - but none are out and out strikers - if Kane was fit and reliable would maybe think otherwise.

Apparently we are interested in Billy O`Neil, a teenage "strike sensation" at Bray Wanderers. 12 goals and 11 assists in 30 odd games and only 17, although seemingly Bristol City are favourites to sign if you belive Musk`s hellhole of a platform.

Bristol City have offered £400,000 for him and another player Reece Knight, no much chance of us competing with that

Lennon on signing Rudden "It was good to get a striker in. Obviously, Zak knows the league. He had a good season last year in a team that struggled. He’s been at Dundee, Partick Thistle, he knows the environment. What he brings is energy and a goal threat as well."

His goal scoring record is decent, but not outstanding at Championship level, but then whose is? Brian Graham, anyone else over a decent period of time except maybe one good season?

Rudden can`t play as wide forward, isn`t a target man and doesn`t have the pace to run in behind...so if he isn`t at least a `poacher` `striker` `out and out scorer` what is he?

I realise we are probably splitting hairs :)
