Topic: Steve Clarke Resigns

"This situation`s been the same for years and we`ve never got to the bottom of it. There`s also the argument that Scottish kids are less active and spend more time on compuetrs and other devices but are they really any different from kids all over the world?"

In a worldwide survey in 2020, kids aged 10 - 15 from 38 countries were asked lots of health related questions. They were then ranked according to how healthy they were. Scotland came 38th. The survey found that Scottish kids sleep less than those from other countries and undertake less physical exercise. They were top for screen time, however... 😱

"I do find it odd that clubs like ours no longer have a competitive reserve team. The need to have a 20-man first team matchday squad probably means having a full squad of at least 25 but there`s no way they`re all going to get regular game time. The whole syatem seems crazy."

I couldn`t agree with you more, wee eck. It would be far more beneficial for youngsters to play against men in reserve games than play other youngsters in youth games.

Big dunc would be my choice but that would require him and the sfa to put aside their differences which I canny see happening tbh if it’s malky McKay then we’d be as well no bothering with international football because we would be going backwards at an alarming rate of knots

One man with a Pars` connection who has been mentioned is Alex Neil, manager of Millwall.

What is big Dunc doing now apart from pontificating about the WC on ITV? Wasn`t his last job helping to get ICT relegated to League 1?

A fair few lower ranked teams made it through the group stages, fair enough we had 2 top 10 sides in our group but look at Cape Verde. Not one of their players is playing anywhere near the top level but they somehow manage to hold 2nd ranked Spain to a draw and scored 2 against the 16th ranked Uruguay and saw their group phase out unbeaten. The new manager needs to study how these lower ranked teams play against bigger teams, as they`re clearly doing something different from us.

Got a bad feeling they will appoint a bland Neil McCann type of manager.

Watching the S Africa v Canada game just now, you`ve got to acknowledge that teams from Africa, North and Central America and Asia have improved significantly over recent years and left some of the countries from more traditional footballing areas, like Scotland, behind.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Darren Fletcher is under consideration as well.

Whilst other countries are improving,Surely the Weather conditions need to be taken into account?. How many of us were struggling with the heat a gew days ago, never mind trying to play fitba in it.....and against players acclimatised to it.?
Still think it best for him to quit. Way too defensive.

I always thought football was about playing the game with the players you have and their strengths on the pitch?
If your strength is getting the ball up top rather than the PEP playing out from the back then get it up the pitch? At least it’s in the opposition half and work from there…

I don`t think we will be able to attract a manager of any great standing in the game. Who would want the job? It`s an aging squad, and there are no real young talents coming through. The fans that wanted rid of Clarke got their wish, now we will have a conveyor belt of managers that can`t get us to a major tournament. We might grace a World Cup again by 2054

The SFA have to cast the net. I don`t the fans will accept a cheap option. Getting to the last 3 tournaments must`ve made them tens of millions.

If the right money is offered managers will always be up for it. Mad to say otherwise.
