I liked Adams when he came on, albeit briefly. He got stuck in and his passing was good. Perhaps a wee bit nervous but he’ll get there with more game time. ”Buffy’s Buns are the finest in Fife”, J. I`d be tempted to have a look at Ewan McLeod next week, he did well in a short cameo against St Mirren. I worry that Lennon is somewhat invested in Kearney though Reply |

Author: Berkey Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:29 I won’t hear a bad word about Tod, he’s one of us so should get a game for life regardless of form, chronic lack of pace or physical presence or overall contribution for 89minutes. Am I doing this right? Tbf he does know where the goal is but for the vast majority of the game he’s not at the races. We have a nasty habit of signing players who are miles off fitness after the season has started! at least Adam’s looks relatively up to speed The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! | 67. Author: thebear Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:35 Well, we were robbed, ref started out ok, but in the end was dire. Keeper was good other a mistake at their goal.. We dominated the game, but struggled to link to the front, amade was good, but made a few silly passes. Kane again was excellent. Lots of possession, never at risk other than goal, but did struggle at corners. Too many sideways or backwards passes. And not enough cutting passes forward. However against one of the keague favourites, we dominated, so in time it will be good. Reply |

He did go past his man to set up the goal and skinned the left back and should have shot in the second half but he opted to stand it up. ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Reply |

| 71. Author: Berry Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:41 Didn’t like the formation first half, weren’t penetrating their defence enough, think we had one shot on target and thankfully Tod found the net. The equaliser I always felt was coming, there was an inevitability about it the way we were playing. Totally different team second half, hard to say we deserved the win as thought Ayr missed a chance that they would’ve scored 9 times out 10. Offensively thought we weren’t really linking up well, need time to bed in. I’ve said my piece on another thread about A.Tod, other than the goal thought he was poor again. Point in the end not a bad result but frustrating that we’re chasing already, Livvy away next as well which will be a very difficult tie. Reply |
| 72. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:42 Some nice passages of play at times, but our final ball or decision making let us down. A fine save from the goalie prevented us getting three points. A poor goal to lose and we never learned our lesson. At least three times we were done from corners at the back post. Lucky to not lose one in the second half. I thought Ayr were quite decent. They had a good 20 minute spell in the second half. They defended very well, by and large. Ben Summers has filled out and he looked neat and tidy. Fraser our best player today. Big Sam is a good player too. Our newest signing showed enough to suggest he could be an asset. 4 points behind Partick already. They are the team to beat this season. Forgot about Ross Taylor second half. Did everything right with two dummies then fluffed his lines when easier to score. Definitely got lucky there. ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Post Edited (Sat 08 Aug 17:44) Reply |
| 73. Author: Berry Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:45 It’s a game of fine margins sometimes, if Cooper scored at ICT and Bray got that in we’d be 6 points and looking pretty. Reply |
| 74. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 17:48 We weren`t brave enough in the final third. They could and should have scored goals rom their corners. Some of the final balls into the box were easy to defend. Predicatable and too slow going forward at time I thought G Wardrope Reply |

| 77. Author: king lad Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:03 Don`t think we needed the back 3 and Gilmour + Amade on for as long as we did. We had essentially 5 players sitting doing nothing as Ayr were just camped in their own half. There were no runners from the middle of the park to drag players out of position to leave space open for the wingbacks (at least not until Cooper came on). When Bray came on against St Mirren he was really positive in bringing the ball forward and winning fouls, no idea why Lennon waited until the 89th minute to bring him on. The game was there to be won against a team that came for a point, we need to be an awful lot better in attack as far too often we overplay the passes or slow the tempo to allow the other team to regroup. | 80. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:06 Berry perhaps it’s fine margins but perhaps having those 2 chances fall to better players can be the difference. We didn’t have an attacking midfielder today and Lenny is playing Tod in behind the strikers which in this formation is a very important role to link it all together but that’s not what Tod does. Hopefully Allan can be that player, adding legs and physicality in there aswell as helping create would go a long way. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!
