| 123. Author: BigTpar1986 Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 09:03 In the past 10 seasons, the 7 eventual winners won both their opening games. The other 3 at least won 1. Although it’s early to judge, by those readings we don’t trend as league winners. Kearney has met criticism for yesterday’s performance due to the lack of desire to actually go by a man. Yes, he done well to be in space to get on the ball for the assist but Ayr were miles out of shape and left him a 3rd of the park and plenty time to think. When he’s given the ball and asked to make a defender work he turns back. Regarding Tod, to basically say be happy he scored and pipe down is ridiculous. His decision making is really poor and probably cost us another 3 or 4 chances on goal yesterday. A brilliant prospect but unless he works on that he will frustrate the majority of fans. Games like yesterday don’t always make the season but the points dropped in the manner we did does break seasons come the final game. Reply |

Its not criticism its just a reflection on both personal and team performance and decision making. Teams will sit in this season at EEP so its how that can be broken down. It was good to see Alfons having a go from the edge of the box in the last few games. Author: Clapham Par Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 10:44 Regularly amuses and puzzles me on here when the fact we scored a goal from a cross/shot is trotted out as some sort of defence against criticism that the vast majority of the rest our crosses/shots were honking. Is that our lot in life as a Pars fan? One decent cross per game? Two things can be true at the same time. We can score from a cross and generally have crossed poorly the rest of the game. Reply |

He doesn’t look as if he is enjoying a game…apart from when he scores obviously. I guess he set the himself high targets in games and it shows in his demeanor if he is not having his best game. None of the front three played particularly well yesterday. I feel the team would benefit from another midfielder on the park ( Oyirwoth or Cooper, Morrison or Bray ) and start with just two up front.. What an opportunity we missed in 2014. Reply |

" and Shaw was the same, the one he messed up after being played through by Kane which was about the only link up between the front 3 summed up the forward play for the day. Reply |
| 132. Author: king lad Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 12:21 It just wasn`t really our day, a lot of poor decision making in the final third. I actually thought Shaw generally had an okay performance linking up with the play but the chemistry isn`t there yet with Tod or Kane. Tod had a poor game other than his finish, but I thought Kane was mostly excellent until he tired in the second half. Something just isn`t clicking there in terms of our patterns in attack. I`d really like to see Cooper and Bray get more games as I think they speed things up on the transition and are capable of something a bit different to what we`re currently seeing in attack from our starters. Amade and Gilmour are more often than not a very good midfield duo but they were rendered mostly unnecessary due to how deep Ayr were defending, in games like that I`d like to see Lennon switch it up and be more aggressive at home. I lost count of the number of times someone made a break away and there was maybe only one or two other runners up with him when Ayr were scrambling and then we played the ball backwards again. Hopefully Oyirworth is someone that can bring that to our squad. Adams also added a bit of energy near the end and maybe can provide a new dynamic to what we have in attack. At times his first touch was poor and resulted in him having to make neck-or-nothing challenges to recover the ball which slowed down our attacks even when he won it. His frustration ended up with him getting booked and subbed. Reply |

Too often he broke to then make the wrong decision, or try to beat a man and was brushed off the ball like a feather. And thats not including his hold up play, which was awful. He was like a pinball machine when the ball got played into him in a direct manner. If the answer to this is yes, it shows how poor he was yesterday - would Shaw or Kane have scored his goal yesterday from the same position? Reply |

Our best performance for a long time and early in the season. At least 2 excellent saves from their keeper that kept them in the game. Reply |

I think some of the criticism is fair but for me, all 3 of Tod, Kane and Shaw is too much. I`d be rotating in one of Tod/Kane and another creative player/pace instead. Reply |

| 139. Author: Berkey Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 14:19 The post above referring to Chris Boyd, can you imagine how effective he would be playing as a number 10 in behind 2 strikers? There was a reason he played as a striker all that was expected of him was to put it in the net. We’re playing a young striker with very little else to his game as a number 10 and wondering how we’re not creating more or moving the ball fast enough and lots of moves are breaking down. Put a proper number 10 in there with some intelligent movement and quality on the ball and we would worry teams that sit in a bit more. Leave Tod upfront to get on the end of things.
