Any explanation for Corbally`s absence from the squad today? His passing might have unlocked the Ayr defence.

Injured, wee eck.

I thought it was a good game to watch. Aside from the result, I quite enjoyed it.

A note to Referee`s - If you`re going to count down restarts in play do so at the appropriate speed, the countdown was so slow that if he was a boxing referree anyone knocked down would get back up and if the space shuttle was on the launch pad it`d never take off.

The negativity here is unbelievable. We were the best side today by a country mile and should have won at a canter. Ayr were good defensively and countered our press pretty well and I expect them to be challenging at the top. But we could have won this by 3 or 4. The new signings all looked good considering we had a completely new back three.

Agreed. Disappointed with the goal conceded but the keeper made a good save just before, leading to the first corner,so willing to cut him a bit of slack.

Thought we were by far the better team throughout & that save at the end was top notch to win a point for the visitors.

Seen a lot worse games and not too despondent after that today.

Hopefully the new lads will fit in well and once the team gells, think we`ll do ok this year 😎🤞🏼🏁

Frustrating to lose a goal right on halftime, and it was poor defending from the corner.
Don`t think we won many if any heading duels in either box during the game, defensively we are still short.

Very poor away crowd ,for a team that started the season well, and is meant to be a sleeping giant .

We`ll be fine this season.

I think the problem today, as it`s been for years, is the tactics rather than the personnel.

Must have been watching a different game we hardly created 4 chances throughout.

We had 5 shots on target which was joint top amongst Championship clubs this weekend. It`s actually quite hard to create a string of chances in this League.

We deserved the win, sympathy for the goalie who made a mistake but seemed to be defending corners by himself. Todd needs to get involved in the physical side of the game or he will find himself dropping out of the picture. Lennon has signed a couple of physical strong players so he obviously sees that as an area we lack in.

Lennon, unlike a lot of fans, knows what Tod brings to the team and won`t be dropping a guy who has scored 5 goals in 6 games. It`s incredible that in this thread the two players who produced the goal attracted so much criticism.

Tod took his goal really well as the pass looked to be slightly behind him.

I thought apart from the goal Tod offered nothing. There’s no doubt he’s talented and NL will work with him but overall I thought he was poor today.

Folk say that about him just about every time he scores. If only some of the others could score whilst producing nothing else we`d be fine.

Imagine what they’ll say when he’s not scoring while giving the ball away as easily as he is at the moment.

If someone is pretty good at doing what is generally considered to be the most difficult thing in football, ie putting the ball in the net, why would a fan even contemplate what the reaction to him would be if lost that ability? That would be the ultimate in negativity surely?

I thought our deliveries into the box down the right hand side looked really poor today. Failure to get it past the first man, or over hit crosses! Was frustrating 😕

Wee eck perhaps we are being unfair to Tod, he should be playing upfront where putting the ball in the net is what matters the most, playing him in behind 2 strikers doesn’t work in this formation as you need more from your number 10 at this level.

That one is on Lenny, we’ve signed a couple this week to at least give us options so there is something between amade and gilmour and the strikers.
