I remember something similar last season when Mehmet, I think, made a great save and it was suggested he wouldn`t have saved it if it had been struck by a better striker! Plus, they weren`t in that position nor were they on the end of similar chances. I think some of the criticism is fair but for me, all 3 of Tod, Kane and Shaw is too much. I`d be rotating in one of Tod/Kane and another creative player/pace instead. Except Shaw was in the position as he was right behind Tod…… Reply

There was a reason he played as a striker all that was expected of him was to put it in the net. We’re playing a young striker with very little else to his game as a number 10 and wondering how we’re not creating more or moving the ball fast enough and lots of moves are breaking down. Put a proper number 10 in there with some intelligent movement and quality on the ball and we would worry teams that sit in a bit more. Leave Tod upfront to get on the end of things. This 100%. Unfortunately that means benching Kane or Shaw but if the Ugandan is a creative type it’ll be worth trying. Reply
145. Author: Par-timer Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 15:17 Enjoyed yesterday’s game, my first of the season (as my username would suggest) even if the result was a little frustrating. Back three looked decent, Robinson offering the strength and experience, Donnelly the ability to quickly reset the angle of attack and Cleall-Harding a class act with an exceptional first touch for a CB. Some pleasing passing moves nevertheless ending (as last season) with poor crosses or an unwillingness to have a pop from the D. Great cameo from Adams at the end, his ‘ball boy’ antics riling the Ayr players and rousing the crowd, and adding a bit of dynamism just as we had begun to run out of ideas. With Abdulai, Corbally, Rudden and Oxborough still missing, a decent performance which with a bit more luck would have been a well-deserved narrow win. Reply

Author: GJS93 Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 15:58 going by what Lennon said on Oyirwoth, legs and energy, didnt mention being a creative type. sometimes you stumble upon something that works and is worth continuing, last season it was Tod as a striker, its not quite been abandoned since Christmas but it definitely isnt plan A with the other forwards brought in now and doesnt get the best out of Tod or the team overall. not sure the system will change or another number 10 type will come in though. Boyd was never brushed off the ball as easily as Tod. Tod still needs to improve that part of his game. His movement is good and he knows where the net is (as Eck said in fairness) but on the flip side, he can be weak in possession of the ball and is guilty of waiting for the game to come to him. Kris Boyd would always put himself on the end of a cross. Perhaps if the service from the right was better, we’d see more of that from Tod. COYP Reply

I think A Tod is very effective when he is running with the ball at his feet, but his first touch at times I think lets him down. He is always very closely marked so is not afforded time on the ball but if he can control the ball a bit better to give him that little bit more time he will be much better. Not easy in the heat of a game and with players around you closing you down quickly, but thats my main thought. G Wardrope Reply

A great, pinged pass from Amade, a nice pick out from Kearney and a good side foot/instep finish. It was certainly not exceptional technique. 150. Author: Foresters Par Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 16:56 Again. The negativity. We have a team vastly improved. New signings look on point. We are generally a young side and still developing. Especially Andy Tod who most teams would like in their squad. We totally dominated possession on Saturday and were unlucky not to win. We may not get promoted but Lennon is trying to strengthen the squad with the backing of the owners who were at the game. Let`s maybe get behind the team. We`re not perfect but we`re making progress. Let`s be a bit more positive? Reply

153. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 9th Aug 2026. 18:13 I don`t have any concerns for this season because were are a stronger squad than last season. Granted, we are a little behind the curve given the reorganisation, but those who have come in, I personally think will improve us over last season. Its not an individual player issue, its about working as a team to become more than the sum of the parts. NMC - The odd thing for me is that A Tod is quite a big lad. I see him around Kinross a fair bit. I am not sure if he falls over looking for a foul or is just pushed off the ball a little too easily. I don`t think anyone would dispute that, and I think it is wrong to expect him to score every week and then blame him if he doesn`t score. Other players need to chip in with goals. We were fortunate last season as Barney score a few early doors. I`d like to see Keith Bray get more game time this season as he seems to be improving as a goal threat. G Wardrope Reply
