| 84. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:32 Ayr moved the ball quickly and created space. At times our tackles were into fresh air. Losing a goal from a corner is disappointing. A goalkeeping error. The wsrning signs were there as we failed to pick them up several times giving them free headers. Ayr ran out of steam the last 15 mins, but we didn`t have any punch in the final third. Its a game of probabilities. We didn`t get good balls into the box or shots off when we had the opportunity. The keeper made one good save in the 2nd half. That was it. G Wardrope Reply |

Author: saltonsgonagetu Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:33 We lost because 3 central defender and 3 strikers couldnt defend 1st corner ,free header totally unmarked ,keeper made a good save, 2nd corner keeper palms away from unmarked Ayr player at the back post 3rd corner keeper has gave up on our defenders and decides to come for it , didnt make it , guess what free header for Ayr player goal , should have been 2 for Ayr in the 2nd half , we cannot defend corners snd are rubhish at out own corners . The inability to deal with any ball into either box, especially considering the size of our team, is going to continue to hurt us unless it’s addressed. A RWB has to be a priority because Kearney just isn’t up to much. Both Tod and Shaw were rubbish up top today as well. It’s still very early days, but based on the first two games, we’ve looked bang average at best. Plenty of work to do. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |

| 88. Author: ReturningParsFan Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:45 Not getting the criticism of Shaw. I thought he had an excellent first half, but admit poor touches let him down a bit in the second half. I think he`ll be our top scorer this season. Sharing the views about why Keith Bray isn`t getting more game time. He may not yet be ready to start, but is surely worth more than a couple of minutes. Sam C-H has decent distribution and his John Tod-like run in the first half deserved a goal. I thought two brilliant saves in the game from Harry Stone. Reply |

Thought we played well Overall just lacking the final ball. Kearney needs to improve his final ball and also stop playing the safe pass backwards. | 91. Author: kelty_par Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 18:53 Some absolutely wild takes on this thread as usual. Keeper was mostly fine apart from the goal. Kearney was absolutely fine, one of our better performers in the first half and was one of the few outlets when Ayr had their good spell in the second half. It appears he`s the new scapegoat. Tod waa absolutely fine too, you know what you`re getting from him - endeavour, chaos, and the chance that he scores or creates something out of nothing. He tried a few things that didn`t come off today but at least he tried something. Overall we controlled the game for long spells, with Ayr time wasting from about the 60th minute mark (not helped by a referee that aided their time wasting antics) and but for a truly outstanding save at the death we`d have come away with a deserved three points. Only issues for me today was the poor defending at their goal, the lack of any creativity in the final third (they came for a point and even at 1-0 down they were intent on keeping it tight), the way our defenders dived in on a few occasions, and how sloppy we were in possession in the middle part of the second half (even the usually reliable Amade and Gilmour were giving it away constantly). Thought Gilmour had a poor game compared to his usual standard. We thought Ollie Shaw and Chris Kane got into some good positions in the box, but the crosses didn`t find them. Author: GJS93 Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 19:32 seen that so many times in the last year, a lot of huff and puff with a handful of bits of quality and conceding not quite a comical goal but close to it from a needless set of poor decisions or lack of ability.......yet could have won it with Bray`s effort which he probably catches it too well in a way. maybe Adams and Oyirwoth will be the difference makers in the future but can see a lot of games playing out like today more often than not. | 98. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 8th Aug 2026. 19:34 Frustrated. Very frustrated. I thought we started very well and controlled much of the first half. Then we scored and, at that point, it became a case of “how many will we get?” However, we seemed to create very little after that. It felt inevitable that we’d concede a goal like that. Ayr pounced on our individual errors all game and were effective at doing so. I said it last season and I’ll say it again, but we are appalling, yes, appalling, at defending and attacking corners. It’s actually laughable at times and Ayr had obviously identified that as something they could exploit. Musa went from hero to flop in about 30 seconds. The save he pulled off first was everything you want from your Goalkeeper. For the resulting corner, though, he’s never getting to that while leaning back. He should have just pivoted, got himself set and been ready for whatever shot came in. The third corner for the goal was similar. Yes, the defending was poor, but he’s never getting that and has sucked himself into the cross. Honestly, what is it with goalkeepers at our club? I don’t buy into the criticism that he should never play again, though. What I would ask is how he went from third choice to first choice in the space of a week? I’m not saying Terrell was any better, but Musa’s inclusion seems a strange one. I thought we looked so disjointed when the second half started. Ayr definitely became the more likely side to score and probably should have when Ross Taylor tied our defence in knots, only to blast over the bar. However, it was during that period that some of our poor performers really started to show. We all love him, but my God, Andy Tod was awful today (goal aside). He continually gave the ball away and offered very little. Shea Kearney really isn’t the answer in that RWB role either. I want to like him, I really do, but he’s not there yet, certainly not if we have genuine aspirations of winning this league or getting promoted. He’s got it in him, but not consistently enough. I heard a wee rumour before the game that a lad had signed from Bristol City. If that’s true and he’s a RWB, I’d be giving Euan McLeod a try against Ross County. Amade frustrated the people around me, but the sheer nature of his game, trying to force the ball through and make things happen, means he’s going to give it away from time to time. I actually thought he had a good game. I also thought it was possibly the best Oli Shaw has played for us, but the introduction of “Oli” Adams will undoubtedly be the main talking point. You could feel the sense of expectation when he took to the park and I thought he did well. He looked lively, his link up play was levels above what Tod had been offering, and he left a really positive first impression. He looks a little raw, but he certainly looked effective. For me, though, the star of the show up front was Chris Kane. Again, his work rate and link up play was top notch. We probably take him for granted a wee bit, but with Kane, Shaw, Adams and Rudden along with Tod who is regularly pushed further forward, we’ve got some amount of competition up there. I’ll end by saying that we’ve still to click, but there are signs that when we do, we’ll be okay. I just hope we’re not left playing catch up again, because we’re already four points behind the league leaders. Loving You, Is In My DNA Reply |

A lot of good things to take from that game despite not winning. We have come a long way in a year and some of the negativity on here is unwarranted. The bottom line is it is enjoyable to watch the Pars again after years in the doldrums. Some people have short memories. Reply |

Ayr were good defensively and countered our press pretty well and I expect them to be challenging at the top. But we could have won this by 3 or 4. The new signings all looked good considering we had a completely new back three. Reply |
