142. Author: ipswichpar Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 08:37 How is illegals a right wing term? An illegal immigrant is used very widely to state that a person does not have legal permission to enter the UK but has still done so. Does that mean legal is a left wing term? ETA : it might be worth looking at this. Unfortunately without clear statistics we're collectively going to get into a debate based on individual assumptions. A sample of one could massively skew things. The two things that I feel are definitely true .... big corps are making a lot of money out of this mess and there's a real chance that some of those complaining about stuff could very well be aiding the corporate behaviour that's supporting some of it. ETA2: It wouldn't let me post a link to the Essex Police Braintree page which reported they had caught someone delivering food in a car on the wrong side of the road, with no UK driving license or right to work or even legal right to be here. 143. Author: LochgellyAlbert Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 09:31 I`m sure that if a few could kick a football about they wouldn`t be illegal for long! Immigrant is that much of a swearie word that Brits call themselves ex-pats! Reply |
144. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 14:46 LochgellyAlbert, Mon 23 Jun 09:31 Those people are legal migrants who went via a passport check. What`s being referred to here are people who purposefully discarded ID and arrived "illegally". The biggest issue that no-one talks about is these guys are hanging around town centres because there`s nothing else for them to do and processing takes too long. Rather than making hotel owners wealthy, why not invest in PROPER processing centres so this can be done quicker. Why not develop a legitimate form of requesting asylum in the UK? The guys arriving in the back of lorries must be desperate but the ones arriving on boats and paying smugglers must have decent amounts of cash. The key thing though is these are people, not just numbers. If you want to solve illegal immigration you need to understand WHY people are coming here illegally in the first place. It certainly isn`t for the weather! The only rational reason is the English language but it`s not that hard to learn Spanish, French, German etc. Reply |
145. Author: LochgellyAlbert Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 14:51 I meant a footballer "discovered " in a detainment facility! As I suggested in an earlier post, why not take up the offer of a processing centre on French soil? Reply |

147. Author: pars4life1 Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 17:05 Once again, it is not illegal to arrive in this country through unconventional means. Arriving on a dinghy with no passport and claiming asylum is not illegal Reply |
148. Author: ipswichpar Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 17:30 Where do you come to that conclusion? I thought the main changes via didn`t make it less illegal to rock up without appropriate documentation, just that we would do a bit in the UK to review the cases in a timely fashion rather than horsing then off to Rwanda. It does feel to me like we`re a soft touch on this front, and as nation we`ve ended up having an argument that could have been avoided if we had decent processes that were managed properly. Reply |

151. Author: Alter Ego Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 18:55 If you don’t have a passport to enter a country then do so it is illegal as the country you are entering doesn’t have a clue where you are from or have any convictions….you can’t enter Australia with drug convictions even with a passport. So how is our government monitoring the illegals that could have convictions for rape etc? That’s the most worry aspect. Young middle aged men just turning up getting put into hotels and get free meals…costing millions. Where are the Wife’s and children of these men? Surely if it was that bad in their war torn countries then they would all risk to come to such a delightful place like Britain…I give it 2/3 months and it’s all going to kick off as locals in towns and cities have had enough..God how I wish we could get back to the 80’s/90’s in a Britain again…this place is so miserable now! 153. Author: ipswichpar Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 20:24 pars4life1, Mon 23 Jun 18:04 Yes, so the default is that it`s illegal unless you can avoid the charge by being successful in your asylum claim. Reply |
154. Author: Alter Ego Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 21:20 If you don’t have any ID or proof where you came from then you can’t claim asylum but get put up in a 4 star hotel…And some of you think this is acceptable? Mon the Pars! Reply |
155. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 21:33 Dont think anybody has said its acceptable. Whats not acceptable is the length of time it takes to process any applications and returned rejections. Reply |
156. Author: Alter Ego Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 22:00 They don’t have any proof where they come from and no passports so how can we process them?? Ah but put them in hotels with free everything while they hang about the streets intimidating people? Honestly I don’t understand the British people putting up with this and accepting unknown illegals into our country and paying for their welfare…intimidating locals and making them feel unsafe to walk the streets.. 157. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 22:53 You keep banging on about people “accepting it” - what do you expect the common working man to do? Go out and set fire to hotels and chase them down the streets? 🤔 Reply |
158. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 23rd Jun 2025. 22:59 It shouldn`t be too hard to identify someone even if they are from the back of beyond. Right now I, as a Joe Bloggs,.could take a photo of someone on here and put it into AI and you would be found. Ever posted on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter? Or maybe a friend did. If I can do that, a government system should be able to do it and more. They`ll have access to passport systems. Can`t find you? Then you`re held in a processing centre until found. This stuff isn`t hard. You`re telling me we can afford to pay hotels millions of pounds but we can`t build a processing centre in the south of England? Must be plenty old MOD sites with land to build it? Or, as mentioned, build in France. That would probably be better for people rather than being stuck in a hotel with no-one really monitoring what`s going on. Reply |

You`ve been called out elsewhere for your snide remarks. Simply you`re one of these "look at me " flag wavers, a good boy, again frankly all the societal awareness of a child, go you. You`ve pretty much done nothing but snide remarks toward me with no substance, you get back what you chuck. Get a spine. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
