Todd has been terrible since he got injured at the start of last season, so far off it. Post Edited (Mon 10 Feb 17:37) Reply |
42. Author: grelin Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 17:57 I think McCann is a lost cause with us, he is too embedded in the club having come thought the youth ranks and thinks he is untouchable. He showed early promise but in my opinion he has not kicked on and only has a good game once in a blue moon. I think he is still young enough to go elsewhere and improve so he should be encouraged to move on. To be fair to him, even when he is mince he puts in a shift, but he is like a headless chicken at times and needlessly dives into challenges as outlined earlier in this post. Reply |
43. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 18:23 Whatever anyone thinks of Lewis McCann as a player, it`s a bit much to say `he thinks he is untouchable`. He made his debut in July 2018 which means he has played for 6 permanent managers in less than 7 years - Johnston, Crawford, Grant, Hughes, McPake and now Tidser. They`ve all rated him sufficiently to have him as a regular in their squads, if not the starting XI. I presume that`s based on what they saw on the training pitch and in competitive matches and nothing else. Reply |

Author: neilholland999 Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 18:35 I`ve got a strange feeling of déjà vu here wee eck, but I`d argue that most of the managers you have mentioned were forced to play McCann simply due to a lack of decent alternatives. However, I`m hoping that the recent additions will provide much better competition for a place in the starting eleven. Reply |

Maybe if they are given 6 whole seasons to "come good" like McCann then the situation would be comparable. "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary" Reply |
46. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 18:51 Some of them must have offered him a new contract. Do you think he signed a 7-year contract in 2018?!!! No manager is `forced` to play any player if he doesn`t think he`ll do a job for the team. Reply |
47. Author: Jeffery Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 18:57 It`s often frustrating when a player moves on, is managed differently or played in a way that suits them better....and they do well. When an ex player scores a goal for their new team, is awarded MOTM, or appears in the team of the week, fans are understandably prone to hand wringing like we`ve missed out or failed. McCann is the one I have the strongest feeling this will happen with. More than L1 hero Matty Todd, Paul Allan, or any of those listed here who have been deemed `not good enough`. I honestly believe he`d do really well in a different team because of the way successive managers have used him. Reply |
48. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 19:11 I’m sure our players read the forums and, if not, I’m sure a friend or a family member will and relay what has been said? I can’t imagine what it must be like to read threads about yourself, generally slating you? I’m sure some will say it goes with the territory, but I think it would demotivate me? Chris is also a dyed in the wool Pars fan. I wonder how he feels? I also heard that members of Joe Chalmers’ family were very close to reacting to some foul mouthed abuse of him during Sunday’s game. By all means, let’s critique players, if that’s how you feel, but can we do it respectfully ? ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Post Edited (Mon 10 Feb 19:13) Reply |

52. Author: Gaz3822 Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 19:23 I don`t agree Jeffery. Managers have stuck with him through the years hoping against hope that the young guy with potential will finally burst through. The young guy with all the physical attributes normally lacking in our academy players, will prove that he has what it takes to be 1st name on the teamsheet. But....he`s no got it mate. Someone mentioned game intelligence on Saturday. I`m sorry but he doesn`t have any kind of football intelligence. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Reply |

Author: jake89 Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 19:25 da_no_1, Mon 10 Feb 19:17 I know it`s not always an easy thing to do, but that sort of thing needs called out to the stewards and the person ejected/banned. Absolutely shameful thing to be shouting. Same with people calling players paedos and shirt-lifters. It`s caveman nonsense. Reply |
54. Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 19:26 I get the frustration with McCann. He’s lacking awareness around him when he does get the ball but that’s something he can be coached on so definite room for improvement there. He does have attributes though. He’ll run himself into the ground and always makes himself available. Hamilton had a stinker on Sunday like Joe Chalmers but I’m generally a fan of him as he gives his all. I’d lay off criticism of him as he is an asset to our squad. Zwei Pints Bier und ein Päckchen Chips bitte ![]() Reply |

56. Author: Back_oh_the_net Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 19:47 For what it’s worth I thought chalmers had a pretty decent game considering he was playing left back even though he’s no very good at it he kept jensen at bay in the first half and made life difficult for keskenin as well and as for the abuse he gets most of the time it’s from boys who would be blowing out their erse after the first 10 minutes As for the players mentioned in the OP McCann is a lost cause and needs punted at the end of the season as for wee eck scoffing at the idea of some who say McCann thinks he’s untouchable that’s exactly what it is mate he knows himself he’s no good enough but he still gets a game due to there being no one else to drop him for who knows mibby the gaffer will drop him for Connor young at the weekend but I highly doubt it As for Hamilton I’m at a lose as to what’s up with him or where it’s even went wrong there’s no question that he would jump in front of a bus if it stopped us losing a goal because he bleeds black and white he could just be trying to hard in order to make up for other players around him’s short comings with the system we are trying to play hopefully he gets back to his best soon Reply |

59. Author: parsfan97 Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 20:16 Players shouldn’t just be here cause they give their all. Anyone from the stands would also do that. Should be playing for us based on ability. Like da no 1 said, I’m sick of seeing the same players having us languishing near the bottom end of the championship. Big change needed Reply |
60. Author: TommyR Date: Mon 10th Feb 2025. 20:32 The place 100% needs freshening up. Some of these lads would probably improve elsewhere, it`s just been too long. Chalmers is stealing a wage from us at this point and the fans are more than fair in their criticism. It`s football and yes comments will be unsavoury unfortunately. I want to see our new signings feature heavily over this old riff raff. It can`t be any worse and tidser really needs to lay his loyalties aside and stop being pals with the old guys who`ve been benched by previous managers after months of us screaming for it. If we wanted to survive the season than McLaughlin had us setup exactly to the strengths of this squad. We can play tidser play next season when they`re gone. Reply |
