81. Author: kelty_par Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 07:53 That`s the frustration TAFKA. For a player praised for his passing ability, the fact that let him down was pretty bad. Add to the fact that he did it 3 or 4 times in the corner next to the Lars fans, that won`t have helped him. Reply |

I have been told first-hand, by the fiancee of one of our players, how hurtful and unfair some of the comments are on social media, forums etc. Yes, players have to be professional and try to do their best whenever they pull on the jersey, but they know whether or not they have played well, and comments like wage-thief (and much worse) are unlikely to motivate them - so why make them just to see your name on the Internet? _________________ ![]() Reply |
83. Author: Berkey Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 10:17 Parrot we only have 13 games left to play. Queen’s Park will struggle as they have just lost their best player so I don’t expect them to maintain that position but you seem to forget raith and morton who we would also need to leapfrog. These teams all have to play each other so they are going to pick up points and will no doubt pull some surprise results out of the bag. We’ll know a lot more in the 3 games after livi. If we don’t win at least 2 of them we’ll be in trouble. We’ve scored 1 deflected goal in open play in the last 4 games. Things may improve but this is relying on inconsistent untried youngsters, I’ll still bit your hand off for 8th right now. 84. Author: da_no_1 Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 10:34 Airdrie apart, our performances and result have improved since McPake left. We also seem to have added to the overall quality of the squad. There`s a few teams directly above us who are treading water, hoping we don`t go on any sort of run. Even a couple of wins would put the frighteners on them. Plenty to be positive about if you take a step back and look. "Some days will stay a 1000 years, some pass like the flash of a spark" Reply |

Author: wee eck Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 11:08 `These teams all have to play each other so they are going to pick up points and will no doubt pull some surprise results out of the bag.` In that situation I always think that some teams are going to drop points. And why shouldn`t we pull some surprise results out of the bag? It all depends on your mindset I suppose. Reply |
87. Author: fergie Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 11:30 Stupid debate, slagging arguably one of our best players, namely Lewis McCann from the previous 3 games I have every expectation that McCann will end up in the premiership as he has all the attributes to make that step. As to our other soldier, Chris Hamilton, if half the team put as much heart and soul into the game as Chris, we wouldn`t be in the **** we are currently in. He does need to learn to shut his mouth, though. I was there too on Sunday and as gutted about the result as everyone else, but to blame it on two players is just ridiculous. Stop hating and start supporting or we are forever doomed to be has been. Reply |
88. Author: dd23 Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 11:36 McCann needs to be okayed to his strengths as one of a front two. He’s not a winger and he’s not a loan striker but virtually all his time with us that’s been how he’s been played. Look how well he performed in the three gams John McGlaughlin was in charge. Reply |

92. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 16:03 Also worth pointing out we have failed to win back to back league games all season. If we are to escape the dreaded relegation play off we need to tighten up at set plays, take more of our chances from open play as 1 goal in 4 isn`t exactly prolific and manage to get on a run of wins. c'mon the pars Reply |
93. Author: Berkey Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 17:04 We haven’t been able to score in 3 league games in a row either. lol all the attributes to end up in the premier? Fergie are you okay? What premier league level attributes have you seen that no one else on this forum has seen as we’re all debating whether he can actually cut it in the championship and generally the feeling is he can’t unless it is in a club which is fighting to stay in the league. I do like this argument that players can be so much better if they are just played a certain way, it’s like if we move McCann into new position he’ll suddenly develop game intelligence, anticipation, control, instinct and be able to look up when he has the ball at his feet if only he was playing 20 yards further forward and central alongside another striker. There is just too much missing from his game. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
94. Author: kelty_par Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 17:19 Scored a cracking goal at Firhill and caused all sorts of problems in the three games under Lanzarote John. Not saying he`ll turn into a superstar just with that one change but given the state of the squad I think we need to use each player sensibly. Same for Benedictus - he`ll be fine if we want him to defend but if he`s starting the attacks from deep there is no point. Hamilton, play him as a screen who will disrupt things and keep it simple rather than trying to turn him into a deep lying playmaker. Comrie is a steady up and down full back, let`s not pretend he`s an inverted Pep style jack of all trades who can play in midfield. Young is a number nine so play him there instead of as a ten. 96. Author: red-star-par Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 20:03 Can`t fault either of these players for commitment or effort. They are both very competitive players. Both do have their limits I admit, and I do have doubts that they could take us to a higher level, but they have earned the right to be given a chance. Probably one of the worst things about being a Pars fan, the only thing that makes me ashamed of being a Pars fan, is the way we are all so quick to jump on the back of a scapegoat. You`ve all moved on from Chalmers and now you have Hamilton and McCann in your sights. It`s the kind of thing you used to see in school playgrounds. The chief bully would identify his target and then all the wee cowardly bullies would pile on. That`s what you can see on this thread. A bunch of faceless wee immature bully boys, who are likely small on stature and tiny of tadger Reply |

98. Author: TommyR Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 20:45 The Chalmers appreciation society is alive and well here. Nobody is condoning calling him rude obscene gestures but he`s far and away our worst player and has been for some time. The 3 year contract given was a very poor decision from McPake off the back of the seaside league. I`m disappointed Tidser has decided against previous sentient and decisions and to give him a fresh start. He gives away passes left right and centre. Can only pass sideways or backwards. Has absolutely no tackling ability. Frequently misjudges free balls, hesitates and allows our opposition to take it. The only plus I can give him is he sometimes provided a decent long ball or precision corner. I wish the man no harm or abuse but the general feeling outside this forum is that he`s done here. Nobody wants to see players who clearly can`t cut it at this level keep being risen from the dead. I`ll stand by any criticism of his play outside of slurs with the exception of wage thief. He`s being paid well and offers nothing whether hes trying or not. Reply |
99. Author: wee eck Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 20:52 How generous of you only to call him a wage thief. You can`t question the guy`s commitment so that description is totally out of order. Reply |
100. Author: Alter Ego Date: Tue 11th Feb 2025. 20:54 Trust me McCann was no scapegoat against Aberdeen. Chopped a player down for a foul that was not needed leading to a crucial goal just before half time and the second goal he was watching air…plus the first 20mins he just left Chalmers to deal with the fast Aberdeen winger all on his own while he stood and watched… Mon the Pars!
