They`ve had too many losses throughout the years, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq. Reply |
| 162. Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Mon 30th Mar 2026. 10:48 Must admit, I`m very curious what Trump will do now. I very much doubt that he`ll withdraw as he criticised Biden for doing that in Afghanistan and the TACO headlines will reappear and this would be a very bad signal to send to Putin and Xi. The only reasonable outcome now is for the Islamists to be removed and that`s going to take time and military resources. And the regime certainly doesn`t have the popular support for such a scenario to turn into a "forever` war with insurgency etc. Quite obvious too that the new Ayatollah is either dead or incapacitated. | 163. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Mon 30th Mar 2026. 11:55 Trump is a clown and this war has been a disaster and ill thought out by him and his small team of yes men. He thought this would be another Venezuela. How wrong he was and now the world is paying for it. Taking Kharg island will cost many American lives and holding onto it will cost many more. This could turn out to be a mini Vietnam. The Houthis might now cut off the Red Sea route that the Saudis are using, further weakening the USA and its options and mean even greater economic turmoil. The best thing that could happen is for Trump to cut his losses and pull out. The oncoming mid term elections and continual losses in his popularity ratings, may see him pull back from the precipice ? Honestly, I doubt it though. ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Reply |
| 164. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Mon 30th Mar 2026. 17:47 It seems to me that Trump has never (as an adult – I’m not sure what his childhood was like) had to suffer the consequences of his actions, which makes him dangerous. Any issue can be resolved with money or power, threats or bullying. Sexual misconduct, business malpractice, errors of judgement – all can be sorted with pay-offs, divorces, bankruptcies, dismissals, denials, distractions, invasions or whatever. He doesn’t seem particularly well read or well educated, a handicap to holding any position of huge responsibility and not conducive to good outcomes. He could mitigate this with detailed briefings and by surrounding himself with top advisors, but allegedly he finds briefing material boring, and his advisors are his mates and other sycophants. He seems to be particularly prone to repeating the last bit of information he has been given, as if to show off how “smart” and well-informed he is, yet his ramblings are frequently incoherent and contradictory – the war is won, yet it still needs to winning, they need assistance yet can do without it. I wonder how his fellow world leaders can deal with him – presumably they all know he acts like a moron, but they currently won’t say this out loud. Do they share their opinions with others privately? Do the likes of Vance and Rubio acknowledge his idiocy? Brexit affords Starmer (or any other UK leader) the opportunity to position themselves differently to the EU. They can play “good cop, bad cop” or maybe “unhelpful cop, slightly less intransigent cop”. Presumably they have psychologists to advise on how to play him – his obsession with appearing smart, winning golf championships and the Nobel Peace Prize must be significant. It will be interesting to see how any perceived weakness (such as loss of domestic support) changes the dynamic and leads to more vocal international approbation. In a normal world, he would be worried about getting creamed in the mid-terms, but that’s months away (and he’d probably just cancel them anyway…). Bodybags arriving at Dover Air Force Base might be problematic for him, beyond deciding what colour of baseball cap would be inappropriate. Reply |

Author: Back_oh_the_net Date: Tue 31st Mar 2026. 02:22 Body bags piled up at Dover air force base won’t bother him in the slightest in fact he’s probably got his scapegoat lined up for just such an eventuality already he just doesn’t care about military personnel if he did he wouldn’t have dodged the draft 5 times Reply |

| 173. Author: jake89 Date: Wed 1st Apr 2026. 10:45 Trump has well and truly lost it. No issue with him pushing "America first" but making out like losing a war in Iran is a victory is just embarrassing. He`s like someone who offers to do a job for you, mucks it up and then storms off with a "yeah, well if you`re not happy then you can get someone else to do it.". Pathetic little orange man! Reply |
| 174. Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Wed 1st Apr 2026. 12:33 Agree that Trump is pathetic/deluded/senile etc, but trying to say that Iran is winning is really clutching at straws. Their military strike and production capacity has been largely destroyed but the Cheeto has not been clear with his commanders what the final objective of this whole thing actually is. Quantity has a quality of its own and that`s what`s happening now with the use of drones and missiles, but a lot of sources are showing that the use of these is diminishing. The only reason there hasn`t been popular uprising in Iran is because the religious Police and Islamist militias are still intact and on the streets killing people. Those organisation and their infrastructure should be the next targets. Reply |

As long as there`s not a regime change Iran has won the war. Post Edited (Wed 01 Apr 13:06) Reply |
