105. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 07:31 As I mentioned a while back, word I had was Lennon had already signed a contract before he sat down with the players to talk about their futures at the club. Looks like things were already in motion behind the scenes. Wouldn’t be surprised if the official announcement comes out alongside the season ticket pricing, bit of a PR tactic to soften the blow or build a bit of buzz maybe? Watch this space!!!! c'mon the pars Reply |

107. Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 17:03 I’d give NL max 2 year contract as it stands. That might sound harsh but he’s still to prove himself with us. Arguably both Tidser and McPake could have kept us up this season and their respective records are not much different anyway albeit Lennon had a shorter spell. I’d say Lennon is the better of the three because he believes in attacking teams than the turgid defensive minded strategy’s of his predecessors. We just need the right playing staff to carry this out from the back to the front. Zwei Pints Bier und ein Päckchen Chips bitte ![]() Reply |
108. Author: Parsweep Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 17:59 Agree with virtually all of that , would also say that of those 3 named . I`d trust Lennon with a transfer kitty a lot more than the other 2 . Bobvo Reply |
109. Author: red-star-par Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 18:06 AdamAntsParsStripe, Fri 16 May 17:03 He doesn`t need to prove himself to us, or anyone.....he has a proven track record of success. Out of the managers working in the Scottish leagues currently, only Celtic`s Brendan Rodgers can hold a candle to him.....only 6 men in history have won more Scottish top tier league championships, but aye, just give him two years. Haha. Should be a 5 year, Golden handcuffs deal. They guy is the real deal, a proven winner Reply |

111. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 18:15 red-star-par, Fri 16 May 18:06 I think I agree red star. He will need at least 3 years to get us to where we need to be. He deserves respect for all that he has achieved in the game. Ultimately it`s down the overall plan for the club and the direction we are going in, and I think as you say NL is a winner, has experience at the top level in Scotland and knows the game here inside out.we could do alot worse. He has nothing to prove to anybody. G Wardrope Post Edited (Fri 16 May 18:31) Reply |

114. Author: neilholland999 Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 18:38 To be fair I think in some ways he does need to prove himself at a club like Dunfermline. The majority of his success to date has been with Celtic, with whom he had vastly superior resources to the rest of the Premier League. When he won the Championship with Hibs, their squad was miles ahead of the likes of Falkirk, Dundee Utd etc. Reply |

116. Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 19:33 PARrot, Fri 16 May 19:10 Winning things with Celtic is surely not a barometer as to how good he is surely? Davie Hay won things with Celtic ….. I dare say you, GG could win things with Celtic given the resources. I really don’t want to be proved right btw and wish him every success with our club but being a champion with Celtic in a two team league doesn’t cut it with me I’m afraid. 118. Author: jake89 Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 21:07 It`s a fair point to say it`s easy to win when at a club like Celtic but that`s disregarding the enormous pressure. Celtic are never expected to lose a game. Even if you win almost all of the time, losing to Rangers can be your undoing. NL might turn out to be a disaster, but I`m yet to hear a decent alternative. NL has a great opportunity here. He`s got a team that needs building and hopefully a bit of money to do it. We know we need players across the whole team but the key is going to be that elusive striker who can score a bloody goal and a midfielder who can create chances. The guys we have left are a fairly solid nucleus of a team but we need more quality brought in. That will help some of the younger guys to up their game a bit too. I really hope Cook and co get a bit of cash to build the marketing back up. That season in the first division had some great stuff on the go and I`d love to see it back again. Get the people of Dunfermline being part of the club whether they attend games or not. Reply |
119. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 21:31 I don’t think Lennon has anything to prove. We are fortunate to have him and a three year deal would be a real coup. ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Reply |
120. Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Fri 16th May 2025. 21:37 jake89, Fri 16 May 21:07 I’m not disregarding the immense pressure or the attention managing Celtic is. You’re only 3 bad results from being under pressure for your job, but he did get the job at the ‘right time’ when he was very used to the pressure. I know I’m getting it tight from some here but being an ex player like Lennon at Celtic isn’t a reason he will be a good manager for years to come. Ally McCoist was shown up to be a crap manager and so is currently one of their finest players in Barry Ferguson who has been rubbish at coaching.
