I have a sneaking suspicion that Mullen will be announced next, hopefully on a 3 year deal🤞

I watched OB a lot when he played. He has a football brain. He would regularly look for a forward pass, but there was little movement. He can pass a ball, so with more movement upfront, he will be much more effective

What do we think we are we still looking for player wise then ?

If we`re to mount a "serious challenge" and OB, JCM, Cooper, Wanyama sign I`d be looking for the following:

Starting GK, CB, RB, Attacking midfielder and striker
x1 LB
x3 wingers

I think defensively and midfield wise we`re not far away but attack needs major surgery and width🤞

I`m really hoping we can shift some of the ones still under contract to make space for that kind of squad turnover. Wishful thinking? Definitely

No mention of Wanyama but perhaps he may be the new addition to the coaching set up?

That wouldn’t be a huge surprise. He’s obviously doing his badges just now and appears to be away/has been away, with the N.Ireland squad, so why not?

May have been a flippant comment, it may not have been, however NL mentioned something about “signing 10 players” when he was speaking to PLZ about the rebuild needed.

By accounts playing East Kilbride in a friendly at there place on 28 June, so presume at least 10 days before that

if the remaining 5 all re-sign then a keeper, a left sided centre half, some kind of left wing back option and a forward takes it up to 24 players.

if there is to be a "serious challenge", we need plenty of signings who are guaranteed starters, got enough "squad players" without adding more including re-signings.

The players return for testing on Friday 13th June and as pre-season approaches, Lennon is acutely aware of the importance of proper preparation. “It’s really important that we have a really strong pre-season in that aspect as well. Get them really ready for what’s going to be a very attritional season again.”

All depends on how he sets up, but think we still need starters for the following:

GK
RB/RWB
CB
LB/LWB
AM
RW
LW
St

One for each position as a starter, and then use the current crop as other starters/cover players based in formation.

It seems a lot, but we have needed a full rebuild for the last year and a half, and if we want to get up it needs done this window.

In the interview he also says he hopes to have a couple over the line in the next few days.

If Boothe, Mullen and Cooper all re-sign that becomes a squad of 19.

Mehmet
Sam Young
Bene
Fisher
Ngwenya
Otoo
Hamilton
Tod
Todd
Krh
Kane
Sutherland
Connor Young
Mebude
Bray
Gilmour.

Wouldn`t imagine too many more coming in, unless we can move on a couple off that list.
I`d think we`d be looking at a squad of 22/23 tops.

The flame still burns

Mebude won`t be here.

I`m a shade concerned if indeed Cooper and OB sign again but I guess there`s a reason I`m not in football management.

I don`t think Mebude has been in the squad in Sofia. He is still under contract so would have thought he would be back in tge squad for training. I suppose it depends if he wants it.

According to Transfer Market Mebudes contract ended on May 31st - which makes sense as thats when “a years contract” would normally mean - signed till end of season.

Could move on 2-3 off that list (loans included) and still may release Bene and Fisher depending on court hearing.

Nothing wrong with a squad of 25 if we can get good crowds in to supplement it.

Speaking from experience, I think 25 is the ideal squad size. It works well for training sessions and gives you plenty of options. Match days can be a bit of a headache if everyone’s fit, but that kind of competition for places is only a good thing if the standard is high across the board. Don’t forget, you can also include young players who are ready to step up—or close to it—within that 25. After the Morton game, I’d definitely like to see more of Tod so would hope he is in amongst it again.

You don’t have to be at that level to have experience of working or being employed in football

James Bord has also given an interview and he outlined a two-year plan for promotion, acknowledging that it may take longer. However, he’s content as long as there’s clear progress, as consistent improvement typically leads to promotion. He also emphasised that the club’s main focus will be on developing players.

Liked the Neil Lennon interview, the Courier one is just pulled from the NY Times/Athletic article, he didn`t speak to the Courier.

Looks promising, I would be happy enough top half of the table comfortably, there`s a lot of work to be done, and not every new signing will work, and the squad needs a massive overhaul which surely will take a few transfer windows -theres still a bit of dead wood in there.

Not expecting miracles, but I`m really looking forward now.
