42. Author: Bertie Paton Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 06:48 When you look back to when Bert Paton took over from Jocky Scott. It took 3 season to get to the Premier League. His first season started shakey in the first three games but the team started to click as the season progressed and new players came in. Some of his signings were hit and miss but we built each year, putting in challenges to Falkirk and Raith until we eventually went up in 1996. Think this might be a similar situation. Reply |
43. Author: Parfect69 Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 08:12 Interesting he spoke of ārobustā players, not being injured a lot of the time. I wonder if thatās a wee hint at certain players Reply |
44. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 08:15 If boothe, mullan and cooper sign and we then have a squad of around 18 then the weāll defo have enough squad players and the remainder coming in will have to be the ones which make all the difference thatās for sure! We still have too many players who have taken us as far as they can. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |

46. Author: Never10yairds Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 12:36 Iād offer cooper a year, I think there is a player in there and with a preseason he will come on. I probably wouldnāt offer McCann or OB anything. If we want to compete at the top of the table we really need to bring in better. Reply |

50. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 14:40 If he wants to pursue other options, good luck to him but `Good riddance`? That`s the kind of language that makes this forum a cesspit in my opinion. If you don`t rate a player, fair enough, but that`s uncalled for. I`m sure he tried his best. Reply |
51. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 14:48 Good luck to mccann if he thinks he can get better elsewhere, maybe itās a reduced wage for 1 year as he wonāt be considered a first 11 player anymore? Itās a gamble, in 150 games thereās only a handful where heās looked like an effective championship level player. We donāt owe McCann anything, if anything heās been lucky that heās been backed by longer term contracts despite it not ever happening for him on the park. Obv I donāt rate him and have seen more than enough of him over the years, it feels fitting for the new era to start with some of the symbols of our poor last few seasons moving on given quite a few of them will unfortunately be staying. 52. Author: Ahoy!Ahoy! Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 14:56 Not fussed about McCann leaving, 17 goals in 143 appearances says it all really. We will bring better in. All the best to him though. Reply |
53. Author: Berry Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 15:25 If he was offered a contract would see him more as an impact player from the bench, which if that was the case I think Iād be ok with it, he has his flurries but his consistency lacks. Regardless of how itās come about, if the result is that McCann is leaving then I think thatās a good thing for both club and player, they arenāt getting the best out of each other. Reply |
54. Author: MinnesotaAndy Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 15:37 If Neil Lennon cannot sign all of his targets, I don`t think it would be a disaster to offer 1 year deals to Lewis McCann and Joe Chalmers. A lot of last season involved tippy-tappy football from the back that emphasized the weaknesses of players rather than their strengths. The injury-hit season before meant many changes that prevented the creation of a team that was a well-oiled machine. Reply |

58. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 16:50 From the Courier - Neil Lennon remains convinced Victor Wanyama could be a āreal assetā for Dunfermline. And the Pars boss has refused to rule out a return to East End Park for the Kenya internationalist this summer. The former Celtic and Spurs midfielder saw out last season with the Fifers, who subsequently reported he was one of the players with whom ādialogue remains ongoingā. With Charlie Gilmour having been recruited on a three-year deal, Chris Hamilton having penned a contract extension and Tashan Oakley-Boothe set to re-sign, Dunfermline appear well served in midfield. However, Lennon has left the door open for Wanyama ā who turns 34 later this month and shares a birthday with his ex-Celtic boss ā to stay on with the Championship hopefuls for next season. āPossibly, yeah, possibly,ā said Lennon when asked whether Wanyama could sign again. āI donāt know yet. Once he got fit, he looked great and he played really well in the last game [against Morton]. If he had a good pre-season, he could be a real asset for us.ā On the subject of McCann, if the rumour he has turned down our offer is true, is it not likely he has something else lined up when you consider he is recovering from surgery and is unlikely to be fit enough to start pre-season training? Starting the season without a club would be very risky. Reply |
59. Author: KirklistonPar Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 16:52 Will be sad to see McCann go. I was hopeful he would come good and reach his peek at East End and start getting more goals. I thought maybe Lennon might have been the style of manager to get the most out of him. I suppose with Lewis picking up his injury and possibly being out for the start of next season has ultimately went against him. Weāve been blighted with injuries for the past few seasonās and we really need the squad to be fit for the majority of the season. Especially if we are aiming for the top half of the table. Lennon eluded to fitness and no room for players who struggle to stay fit. All the best if McCann does leave, no doubt he will come back and haunt us at some point in the future. Reply |
60. Author: desparado Date: Wed 4th Jun 2025. 17:08 I like all other Pars fans were hopeful that we are going to sign another striker. If McCann does leave then maybe we will sign two more? Kane has fitness issues, Young has still to score a goal for us and will hopefully prove to be an asset this season but is unproven at this level. Sutherland? Did not really impress on his last loan spell. I think he needs to go out on loan again this year and if he wants to be involved with the Pars going forward he needs to score goals whilst out on loan first. Need to bring in at least one preferably two proven goal scorers and they donāt grow on trees. What an opportunity we missed in 2014. Reply |
