The saddest part about all of this is he was already receiving support but the support wasn`t enough and led to this. This is in England but in Scotland we`ve just massively scaled back reforms that could have improved social care support in Scotland. Even worse, the BBC News showed Sanjesh Gullhane and Jackie Baillie getting angry about it...when it was THEM who voted against the bill passing. The brass neck of them is incredible. I`m not saying the government plans would have worked, but throwing more money at the status quo has already been shown not to work. Ironically, Jackie Baillie`s pals in England are backing an almost identical bill for England. You honestly couldn`t make this stuff up.

Scottish Labour are scumbags, complete and utter scumbags.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Unfortunately jake, I think this is way more than sad. It has been a complete process failure multiple times, and in multiple organisations.

I do agree that resources have been cut too thin, but there also needs to be much more organisational accountability other a shrug of the shoulders that something went wrong (I`m not suggesting that`s your position).

The fact that we need an inquiry to sort everything these days says it all.

Agreed. We`ve seen similar in Scotland not too long ago where a wee boy was let down because of people not talking to each other and sharing information. Reforms could have helped avoid that happening but equally still require people to stand up and be accountable for failures.
