To their home countries where they have fled from? Does no lefty’s want a peaceful life where they live in Britain? So we deport thousands but why are we still letting them in? Doesn’t make sense. All of us living and paying taxes in Britain need to stand up to the corrupt government now and say enough is enough… I have no problem at all with migrants coming into Britain and getting jobs but these illegals are costing millions and have no intention of getting a job but a free life! By the 1980s-2000s, the enforcement problem increasingly involved overstaying, false documents, clandestine entry and unsuccessful asylum applicants remaining in Britain. Asylum applications rose dramatically during the conflicts and instability of the 1990s and early 2000s, reaching about 84,100 main applications in 2002, before falling to around 18,000 in 2010. 2. The Channel-small-boat phenomenon is much newer. Significant recorded crossings began in 2018, with 299 arrivals. They subsequently rose to roughly 46,000 in 2022. In the year ending June 2026 there were 33,374 small-boat arrivals, accounting for 88% of the 38,086 detected arrivals through illegal routes. Of the 85,891 people claiming asylum in the year ending June 2026, 40% had arrived by small boat, but 41% had previously held a visa or other lawful leave. In other words, the asylum system and the small-boats problem are not the same thing. A person arriving illegally is not automatically a failed asylum seeker. Under current UK law, knowingly arriving without the required entry clearance can constitute an immigration offence. But an irregular entrant can nevertheless make an asylum claim, and being guilty of illegal entry does not by itself disqualify somebody from refugee protection. The Refugee Convention itself recognises circumstances in which refugees may have entered a country unlawfully. Once a person`s asylum application has finally failed and they have no other right to remain, the expectation is that they leave. But an enforced removal requires several things to line up: a final legally executable decision; confirmed identity and nationality; a destination legally permitted to receive them; a passport or emergency travel document; the destination country`s cooperation; the ability to locate or detain the person; flights and escorts; and no outstanding protection, human-rights or other legally valid claim. This is why the EHCR is not the only barrier. Some countries can take months or years to issue passports or travel documents. There is also a bottlekneck in processing asylum claims. If you have no passport/documents then bugger of back to where you came from! We don’t have a clue if any illegals have convictions for anything in their previous country..does this not worry anyone?? That`s what generated most of this mess. Firing folk back to France used to be much easier. I suspect it was a lot easier for the French to deal with folk before they left as well, so it incentived them to be more proactive. No doubt Farage will be looking for the easy way out now rather than more scrutiny on this point. Don`t worry, though, he`ll reappear just before the next General Election. | 71. Author: jake89 Date: Thu 10th Sep 2026. 07:31 I`m astonished at how little people seem to understand about how damaging Brexit has been for the UK. Small boats pre-Brexit were under 10k. In 2025 there were over 40k! This has reduced slightly to around 38k but it`s still significantly higher than pre-Brexit levels. So much for all the "control ar bohdahs" brigade. The only benefit for Brexit voters is that the price of an avocado has risen. That`ll show those woke, snowflake lefties! Reply |
