Where are your sources that Brexit isn`t a contributing cause of how badly things are going for the UK right now? You can do Scotland only if you want as it`s affected Scotland more than other parts of the UK.

Why is Scotland affected more? I can’t imagine that the Scots are eating more avocados.

Is your position that Brexit is so bad that it has led to an increase in the amount of people risking their lives to leave an EU country to get to non-EU Blighty? I’m struggling to follow the logic.

Brexit removed the previous returns agreement. So once they get here post-Brexit it`s very different than pre-Brexit.

The UK left the EU`s Dublin III system, under which EU states could in certain circumstances transfer asylum applicants to another participating state responsible for their claim. The UK`s departure therefore removed one mechanism available for transferring some asylum seekers back to EU states. That did not mean Britain previously had an automatic right to "send everyone back to France" — a common misconception — but losing Dublin made returns cooperation more difficult unless replaced by bilateral arrangements.

Couple of points:
1. The U.K. was a net RECIPIENT of transfers under the Dublin agreements.
The receiving country had to agree to take the transfers - no automatic sending back - and in the vast majority of cases, other EU countries refused to accept our transfer requests.
2. The scale was in the low hundreds per year, and was mainly used for bringing family members together.

Dublin Agreements (1,2&3) were never going to allow repatriation of ‘illegals’ and whilst it is true that we no longer have that facility, in practice, the effect was less than negligible to the numbers.

My understanding is that entering the country illegally is not a bar to asylum. There would be a process to follow, and if at the end of that process the asylum claim fails, the country of return needs to agree they can be returned. If they do not have a passport, one would need to be issued. This could take months or even years for some countries. This is why it is not so straightforward and a more complex problem to solve.

One of the thugs, as the judge described him, who was involved in violent protests in Portsmouth at the start of the month has been sentenced to two years. No doubt he gets early release though so will be back out in a few months.

What is the £5m for? If it`s to build stability that reduces the number of Somalian migrants then surely that`s a positive thing?

Wild to think that giving Somalia £5million will build stability in a county with population of 20 million thats also one of the most corrupt countries in the world 😂

It’s pretty obvious to me that £5million will line one or a very few people’s pockets.
