Good luck to Matty. Will follow his future career with great interest. For me he embodies everything a hometown club like a Dunfermline should be looking to produce.

No disrespect intended, but instead of saying `I want to test myself at the highest level I can` why can`t footballers come clean and say `I want to make as much money from the game as possible`? Everybody knows that`s how football works and no one would blame them for it.

Can`t disagree with that. Far too much rhetoric going about these days.

It is sad to see him go, but I am glad he was offered a decent contract. I would not have liked to see him released after all his efforts.
I bet that goal v Aberdeen put right in the window.

I think as well what these players will look at is what Barney Stewart has achieved, from being developed by us, scoring in the championship and going back to Falkirk and having goal scoring success there. The principal.problem for us is the success we have had can be counter intuitive unless we have players in longer term contracts. I got the feeling from the post match interview with NL that there was a level of disappointment with some of the players not signing on, given the time and investment the manager and coaching staff have put in. Last season before they came in, these players careers werent`t really going anywhere of note. I suppose thats football, and these players remained professional to the end. On the positive side, I hope that we can bring in players who want to be part of our push for promotion next season.

But India you can look at it 2 ways because remember at the start of the season it looked like both matty and Kieran were both out in the cold and no one would really be shocked if they were put out on loan in January to see out the last bit of their contracts now they’ve both turned into must starts for us so why shouldn’t they have been looking about to see what was out there

If he was to head to Perth, yes it’s a step up league wise but I feel it’s far from challenging himself.

Down south would be the correct move for him, if Lewis McCann can do it, so can he.

Lewis McCann is flying right enough, about 15 appearances and 1 goal in over 900 minutes of football.

That’s what happens when you snap your leg mid season.

Backing himself to make the move up but wasn’t a stand out for a team who finished a country mile behind the saints. Benchwarmer in the prem will pay more than benchwarmer here I guess (assuming we strengthen)

He was free to leave last season after a very poor season and there were no takers so good he’s turned it around to some extent.

Thats fair comment Parsdaft. I was looking at it from a club perspective and how better to protect the investment the club makes in players.

Good luck Matty for your future. Anyone with ambition would look to further their career and grow in their profession, regardless of the industry, and he’s young with many years ahead of him. No matter where he goes from here and in the future, he’ll always be a Pars fan.

So much for kissing the badge and thumping your chest, wouldn`t have got a game for Kelty at the start of the season!💰💰💰

Both Matty and Kieran took their careers by the scruff of the neck when called upon to, good luck to them.

Best wishes to Matty Todd. A great Dunfermline player. I think this is actually in the interest of both parties. I hope he kicks on and makes a star of himself and, as for us, the players who got you from A to B, aren`t always the ones who`ll get you from B to C so I think Lennon will be looking to bring in a high caliber of replacement. Our achievements this season made EEP, the Pars, Neil Lennon an attractive proposition for quite a few players you`d imagine.

Fair play Matty. You`ve been great to watch. Can`t blame you at all for moving on while your stock is high.
