165. Author: Jock Par36 Date: Thu 4th Jun 2026. 20:39 We all need to move on, Matty is no longer a Dunfermline Athletic player. We should be paying attention to the players that are still with us and what players that might be coming in. Reply

168. Author: thebear Date: Sun 7th Jun 2026. 10:36 Agree, stj are bigger than us, but depends on how you measure it. They are in a higher league than us and beat us last season. However I believe we have far higher potential, we just to keep moving on, must win league this year. Reply

170. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 7th Jun 2026. 13:01 We can all identify with Matty because we`re all Pars` fans too but we don`t have the talent to play for our favourite team. We all know how insecure and short a career in football can be but some of us are envious that we don`t have the chance of playing for our team at a time when we`ve just reached the Cup Final for the first time in 19 years, have owners who seem to recognise the potential of the club and we may be on the cusp of returning to the top tier of Scottish football. We`re putting ourselves in Matty`s boots and thinking `Would I give up this opportunity to be part of the club`s progress if given the chance?` We don`t feel the same way about other players who may leave because we know they don`t have the same emotional attachment to the club that we do. Maybe we`re being hypocritical and unfair to Matty in thinking we might make a different choice but, if he`s comfortable with his, that`s the main thing. Reply
171. Author: pars4life1 Date: Sun 7th Jun 2026. 13:18 If I’m Todd I could quite easily see myself signing for st Johnstone too. You can’t be emotional about career decisions and the opportunity to play at a higher level, and the potential future opportunities that platform can provide is quite hard to turn down. Reply
172. Author: Bletchley_Par Date: Sun 7th Jun 2026. 14:12 Topic Originator: DunPar like McCall was reluctant to go, he loved playing for the Pars and it was only when Rangers upped the cash for him and the club he was persuaded to go. It still hurts losing him, I`d have the ace over the 4 kings any day. ![]() Post Edited (Sun 07 Jun 14:14) Reply

If they want to express their tuppence worth on the subject, why do you want to censor it? It is the close season, and there`s not much happening other than some bloated tournament where you have to stay up in the middle of the night to watch various mismatches and other games between no hopers. ![]() Not your average Sunday League player. | 177. Author: GG Riva Date: Mon 8th Jun 2026. 06:09 Paralex, Sun 7 Jun 22:57 Many a true word, Paralex..... I`m actually getting used to Italy failing to make the WC finals. Italy`s last appearance was Brazil 2014, and they contrived to be eliminated (along with England 😁) by Uruguay and Costa Rica - something I predicted on this forum. This year, I still have Scotland to support. Hopefully, we`ll finally get out of the group.... 🤞 ![]() Not your average Sunday League player. Reply |
