Matty Todd was offered a great deal by the Pars HE chose not to sign it , and has moved on, yes he was loved by most of the support especially the younger ones , but he has chosen to play for St Johnstone

What`s your point? He`s a footballer maximising his career at a higher level. Fair play to him.

This.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Wait Fraser is on almost 4K per week? That can’t be right?

There’s surely no way we’ve offered matty Todd a contract at 3-4K a week.

I agree. Surely no way either of those players are on that sort of money. Bang average players

My point is Matty Todd chose to leave the Pars, we made him a vey attractive offer , yet still chose to leave , we wish him well, but it was purely his decision to leave .

I`m still not sure what you`re getting at. The club made it quite clear he turned down a good deal. It was always going to be his decision as he was out of contract, which we all knew.

The point is he has moved on maybe we need to do the same.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Yeah, definitely think it’s a good idea for adults to move on from a 24 year olds career choice. This thread is scary.

We all need to move on, Matty is no longer a Dunfermline
Athletic player. We should be paying attention to the
players that are still with us and what players that might
be coming in.

That’s exactly how I felt when Ian McCall left us when he went to rangers….I’m over it now though (just about)……I’ve found that time is a great healer.

Agree, stj are bigger than us, but depends on how you measure it. They are in a higher league than us and beat us last season. However I believe we have far higher potential, we just to keep moving on, must win league this year.

You must have missed the game up in Perth?

We can all identify with Matty because we`re all Pars` fans too but we don`t have the talent to play for our favourite team. We all know how insecure and short a career in football can be but some of us are envious that we don`t have the chance of playing for our team at a time when we`ve just reached the Cup Final for the first time in 19 years, have owners who seem to recognise the potential of the club and we may be on the cusp of returning to the top tier of Scottish football.

We`re putting ourselves in Matty`s boots and thinking `Would I give up this opportunity to be part of the club`s progress if given the chance?` We don`t feel the same way about other players who may leave because we know they don`t have the same emotional attachment to the club that we do. Maybe we`re being hypocritical and unfair to Matty in thinking we might make a different choice but, if he`s comfortable with his, that`s the main thing.

If I’m Todd I could quite easily see myself signing for st Johnstone too. You can’t be emotional about career decisions and the opportunity to play at a higher level, and the potential future opportunities that platform can provide is quite hard to turn down.

McCall was reluctant to go, he loved playing for the Pars and it was only when Rangers upped the cash for him and the club he was persuaded to go.

It still hurts losing him, I`d have the ace over the 4 kings any day.

Surely that`s up to other dotnetters, Jock? If they want to express their tuppence worth on the subject, why do you want to censor it?

It is the close season, and there`s not much happening other than some bloated tournament where you have to stay up in the middle of the night to watch various mismatches and other games between no hopers.

Many a true word, Paralex.....

I`m actually getting used to Italy failing to make the WC finals. Italy`s last appearance was Brazil 2014, and they contrived to be eliminated (along with England 😁) by Uruguay and Costa Rica - something I predicted on this forum.

This year, I still have Scotland to support. Hopefully, we`ll finally get out of the group.... 🤞

Nope, but based on Matty`s Instagram he is currently still on holiday.

You also predicted Brazil would destroy Germany though.
