Do we really think McCann was that good in the air that we’ll miss his aerial prowess?

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

Wanayama signs for next season if he can prove he`s worth the contract.

That`s 100% true, no sarcasm.

He won`t be the most high profile player at the club next season either....

Stay up & Lennon signs a 3-year deal & has a substantial budget.0

I’m here to take over!!

Aye, cos fitbaw is just another version of head tennis, Berkey. Personally, I`d rather have McCann fully fit and available for selection than out injured.

Not your average Sunday League player.

I’d fancy seeing JCM upfront for half an hour to see how he does. Boy has presence, good feet, decent bit of pace. If we need a goal late on I’d push him up instead of Bene.

I think Tobi could be the answer up top - he is tall and has a decent kick so must have a good shot!

Front 3 of Tobi, JCM and Wanyama if we’re chasing the game could be the answer!

You would think that, with the level he has played at and the skills he has, if he was fit, Wanyama would be able to perform adequately in any position on the pitch at this level. He should have the positional awareness to be able to play anywhere

I`ve thought the same. Seems better suited to it than Benedictus.

I suppose the manager might think that if you are going to be a man shorter at the back then he`d rather the players remaining there are the ones with some pace.

To be fair I heard from someone that has been pretty damn itk in the past say the same thing, stay up and there will be substantial investment in the team in comparison to the last few years.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Yes I believe there will be. I was meaning, who says Wanyama and higher profile players will be recruited though?

It was possibly my brief experience of seeing Wanyama in his favoured defensive midfield role in the Ayr game that helped form the opinion that he might do better in a more advanced position, on the basis that he may, at least do less damage up there. But let`s give the lad a chance, first impressions are not always accurate.

James Forest and Martin Boyle both have history with Lennon and are both out of contract……just saying.

I think we could potentially see 3 or 4 experienced players come in, mixed with prospects such as Connor Young, JCM and other targets they identify. If we get that balance right and mix that with our own youth we it could be an exciting team to watch.

That’s where the previous owners went wrong. Not enough investment in the first team.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us looking at players like Cummings, who has already been mentioned.

I don’t think we’ll have a team of guys like Forrest, Boyle and the like though. Don’t think this would align with the data models the new owners are trying to promote.

You never know what’s going to happen, it’s going to be an exciting summer to be a Pars fan.

They might not fit the data model etc….but neither does Wanyama.

I’m not saying we’re gonna sign these boys but if the opportunity was presented to the board/manager I think they’d be considered tbh.

That is a good shout if we were chasing, he can run, tackle, beat people on foot, header and is a likeable lad.The only thing that is missing is the cape.
Now I have said that he’ll slip on his bum and allow a Partick player to score.

I’d hope NL is here next season, and a long term manager, pushing us for promotion to the Premier League. I think the data confirms or not if any player meets the criteria and what the head coach is looking for. So the data and head coach work together to identify recruitment, not data alone.

Maybe the issue with our younger loanees is that the data is collected over performance at under 20 levels and not the blood and snotters of Championship in Scotland.

As I’m typing that, I’m thinking Wanyama!

Anyway, let’s secure our Championship status first!

This was mentioned on the BBC Scotland Football Podcast by a jurno after Wanyama signed. Can’t remember the exact wording but it was along the lines of Bord is “throwing the kitchen sink at it”, “has big plans for moving forward” and that he has heard that there are agreements in place to sign a Bulgarian for £300,000 in the summer” along with other high profile players.

Edit to add, the episode was the 25th of March

As long as we don`t sign duds like we have in previous years and expect to challenge for top 4. A proper clear out is required. Keeping the same guys around that have had chance after chance before and expecting a different result will undoubtedly end in another disastrous season. I don`t think Lennon will keep most of the guys out of contract in the summer.

c'mon the pars
