I’d imagine that’s young Davidson, GJS?

Would think so. He did say they had offered him a deal at the weekend.

it isnt Davidson who was talked about later, still talking to his agents but hopeful that will happen, this is someone else.

maybe its the player Scott Burns was on about last week which was posted earlier in the thread.

"Yes, there should be at least one arrival this week that I know about. It should be an arrival from a Scottish Premiership club"...and before that "I have heard they are keen on a striker at a Scottish Premiership club"

could be a keeper after ending interest in Demus, whoever it is IF there is a done deal you would think they`d want the player to be involved tomorrow night.

As per Mark Pirie in the Daily Record Sport:

Dunfermline Athletic have bid for Dundee United striker Rory MacLeod.

The Pars have tabled an offer for the talented teenager.

They are waiting to see if they can strike an agreement.

It is understood the clubs aren’t too far away on terms and United would also get decent add-ons.

The Scotland youth cap has just returned from a loan spell with Southampton.

Pars boss Neil Lennon is keen to give MacLeod first-team exposure.

United are entitled to compensation after he came through their academy.

They offered MacLeod a new deal when he returned from St Mary’s.

Macleod has previously been a target for Fulham.

The Pars have been looking to buy some of the best young talent from around Scotland.

Had a bad loan spell with Forfar, but you learn from it. He needs 1st team football and development and we have the systems to do that for him.

Context though - was 16 when he played at United, 17 at Forfar.

C'mon Ye Pars!

Yes agree. He is older, matured a bit, gained experience with Southampton at under 21. Is the right age for development. At his age consistent 1st team experience will benefit him. We will be a good fit for him and likewise him for us. Win win I would say. We have the management coaches and players around him to help him

Interesting interview with Rory Macleod from last November. Says he bases his game on Ronaldo and Stevie Gérard! Aiming high! Seems to suggest he`s more a number 10 https://www.youthfootballscotland.co.uk/rory-macleod-on-life-at-southampton-scotland-aspirations-and-emulating-stuart-armstrong/

Rorys best position is off the main striker either as a attacking midfielder or second striker
He was unfortunate with the Fulham more as they had everything agreed but pulled the plug at the last minute, I`m sure it was to cover themselves with the FFP at the time
When he came back to Utd, he got a bad injury then the loan to Forfar was a struggle due to not getting up to full fitness
Definitely benefited from the loan to Southampton under 21s, even though he would have preferred more game time

If he is fully fit, I hope he can kick on at EEP, he certainly has the potential

A better option I think over Dylan Easton, dom Thomas etc in terms of potential. Looks like we are doing good business

Or it’s going the same way as January with inexperienced untested players….

NL has said he will bring in experience. He is a good prospect being only 19. Sometimes experience works, sometimes not.

He is a wiry wee player. Be interesting to see if he plays out wide or up front.

Lennon has said that he wanted more development players brought in. The development players all seem to be a fit closer to first team than our current academy players.

I think Davidson will be similar to Cameron and MacLeod. Teenagers but will probably see them used as back up to the experienced players and also playing in the reserve team.
