Getting there some experience now hopefully.

Another 2 players who haven’t really played any senior men’s football. Let’s built a maybe team for 4 years from now, we used to be able to sign premier league players and players from bigger clubs with experience (Clark, Higgy, Cardle, Gibson etc). This is a mess.

Does anyone ever read the posts by Hunter78, and think to themselves, here is someone that is used to being on the gravy train under the old sponsors, doesn`t really even support the Pars, now the free hospitality has dried up, he`s just constantly looking to put the boot into anything the club does? Anyone? Or is it just me?

Honestly, reading this forum would be soul destroying (if I actually was the sort of person that gave a hoot what total no marks on the internet have to say). Even signing two young players from Premiership clubs has folk frothing at the mouth that they aren`t good enough

Sounds like you know him. I don`t know him, but looking at his posting history, he`s either a troll who`s kind of ***** at it or a Pars supporter ... who`s kind of ***** at it.

Mullan absolutely a success, possibly otoo as well but he had poor spells last season. The rest of the multitude of young players we have had in, in the last 4 seasons have struggled at championship level despite some doing well in league 1.

We all thought Archie would be great last year coming from rangers but he looked like a young boy playing with men and an offered nothing.

This league is full of big physical teams, it’s very hard for youngsters unless they are really special to make an impact.

This is a fact, it’s not negative to state it.

Rusty I will certainly give these guys some patience and I expect they will be in and out the team this season as they settle. I won’t give them 5 years plus like some others on this site were prepared to do in the hope they eventually come good when you could tell it wasn’t going to happen.

Otoo was a bit inconsistent last season, but has undoubtedly been a success, the main issue was due to his versatility (ability) he was never in the same position, always filling in holes, he was bound to be fed up too

I`m sure we won`t be giving young players years like McCann, Paul Allen etc, they will know they have to improve year on year, the days of the likes of Paul Allen etc being here for 6 years with only a few games and no one noticing are long gone.

I’m still hoping for a target man type striker and a goalie to come in.

Genuine question, what is this stat/what are these numbers?

At first, I thought mins per goal. But there’s no way Matty Todd scored a goal every 30 mins. It’s definitely not goals/90 mins. Chris Kane didn’t score 110 goals for every 90 mins played."

Sorry only just noticed this. Its Non penalty Goals per 90 mins

So Kane `s 11 gave him 0.53/90 mins

What about him da_no_1?

Would be a cracking signing if he could discover his Aberdeen form again. I wonder if he’s a player that just needs to be loved, seems to have bounced around a lot of clubs on loan since going back down south.

Absolutely nothing to do with the old sponsors or club, I’ve had a ST since 1988 and have again, probably been to more games than you have! To suggest we’ve got a squad yet that’s even remotely as good as others is crazy. Read the comments on the young lad from Utd, nearly all fans say he was never going to play as miles off it.

They better get 3/4 experienced players in either on loan or signed or it’ll be another long wretched season

Tbh mate, most utd fans i`ve spoken to at work( only 2 tbf) have said that he has bags of ability, just a wee bit of a fandan, so hopefully lennon can get that out of him and he can show the ability aswell as a changed attitude

Hardly take Poirot to work it out. You`ve spent the last 5 years slagging him off.

Who`s next to be the Berkey scapegoat? Answers on a massive postcard please

Berkey comes over as a negatove person, but although I despair sometimes at how often he feels he has to make the same point, It is hard to argue with most of the points he makes.
To be fair to him, there has not been much to be positive about over the past 5 years ( promotion from D1 the exception) so in his true character he has been on a hiding to nothing.

I have noticed a lot more positivity in his recent posts.

Weird. I find it extremely easy to argue/debate his points. Suppose I try to find positive in almost everything. That`s why he calls me the champion of mediocrity 😆

There is nothing wrong with being negative about a player. There is also nothing wrong with being positive about a player (obviously). There is a problem that Berkey posses though……

Bringing the same player up, constantly, into every thread is just plain obsession. McCann was brought into conversations about other players and being compared to them constantly. He was also brought into threads of games that he didn’t even play in, as a stick to beat the manager and other players with. Even when praising him, Berkey would finish with a “but”. Its not hard to provide positive feedback without bringing up a flaw.

That is a problem. Let’s hope this year there isn’t a scapegoat for posters.

The point I was making is that as a club, if we want to move forward and get improve then spending 5-6 years hoping that a player comes good just doesn’t do that.

For example if KRH is posted missing this year would you be arguing to give him another 2 year deal or would we be better to let him go and try and get better in? Or are new deals for poor performance only worth it if it’s a local lad?

We all know why we have struggled to improve as a club over the last few years. I think Lenny is sharp enough to know we can’t continue this strategy.

People aren’t on about offering new deals to players who underperform. Most fans have been pretty fair with their assessments of players these last 2 years, except certain “fans” who bring the same one or two into every discussion possible, repeating the same old line every post they make.

You’ve now somehow managed to roll KRH into the discussion - is he the next on your list?
