382. Author: dd23 Date: Tue 8th Jul 2025. 22:21 Last year we went in to the cup campaign with an experienced keeper and no back up. This year we have an experienced keeper and a back up. Thats vastly different. Reply |
383. Author: NMCmassive Date: Tue 8th Jul 2025. 22:21 I’m more confident we are moving in the right direction however I’ll reserve judgment until I start seeing competitive football. I think Gilmour could be a great signing and the early signs with Amade are good. I would still like to see another 2 or 3 good first team signings however. It does look like we are building a squad as much for title challenges the season after rather than this season which I’m fine with if we can be competitive this season. Last 2 seasons have been horrendous, I found last season really difficult to watch. I’m trying not to drag that negativity around this season. I’m more confident having Neil Lennon in charge, I think he’s a proper manager. A good football man and will get the best out of the players COYP Reply |

387. Author: Rusty Shackleford Date: Wed 9th Jul 2025. 08:16 I think there`s a tangible difference but I understand why people are frustrated. The "always on" culture where you`re seeing the minutiae of every single rival club means you`re comparing your own club to many, many others. Anyone with even a basic grasp of psychological pitfalls can see where that leads. The new ownership have hired a serious management team, fixed the pitch and signed several promising players (Young, Bray, Gilmour) on permanent deals (I`m not counting Mullen) and might have found a gem in Amade. Yes, we`d like to see some more experienced players in the door but easier said than done and takes time. The strip is a separate matter and yes, it`s a bad look. Reply |

Was it not because Megetts was under 16 and too young to play? Margetts was under age, but we had Lewis Briggs at the club whom they named on the bench for the Livingston and Falkirk championship games. The limited reserve games he (TM) was involved in last year suggest there`s development to be made (and he is young enough particularly as a GK to do so) before he is at back up standard. 391. Author: bobopar Date: Wed 9th Jul 2025. 16:53 A couple of new signings would be great but on big difference already is the amount of goals scored from outside or the edge of the box, I can hardly remember any last season, a pleasant change indeed. Reply |

Lets not get carried away - yes weve scored goals against lower league opposition but dont forget we drew a blank against East Kilbride while Saturdays opponents put 7 past them yesterday. We are nowhere near ready yet Reply |
394. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 9th Jul 2025. 18:13 Agree parfect, couple of decent results against lower league part time opposition isn’t really an indication of where we are compared to other championship teams. Reading the east fife thread people are getting a bit excited over some of the younger players, just need to remember there is a massive step up between even league 1 and the championship. 395. Author: sonofpetrie Date: Wed 9th Jul 2025. 18:25 Berkey, Wed 9 Jul 18:13 East Fife were very competitive last night. An organized Dick Campbell team. The surface was drier than a nun`s biff. Despite that we could have scored more. Much like the Kelty game. They will get sharper. Regardless of league position this year I am both looking forward to the simpler game we seem to be playing and relieved at no longer watching the waterboarding style McP and Tidser played. 396. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Wed 9th Jul 2025. 18:33 It was good to hear NL telling them to go forward. It takes a little time to wean the more established players off the previous playing style. EF tried the offside tactic. No doubt we will face similar tactics in the championship so the forwards need to be timing their runs better. We have more pace and direction up front. Add to that Chris Kane and a couple of other strikers and we have a squad capable of getting in the mix at the top. I hope Deniz has worked on coming out more and his ball distribution. The rest of his game is good. If so, he is good enough for me, and just needs to get more game time. We do need another keeper in though as Margets is still developing. Good to see NL gave him the opportunity to come on last 10 minutes. G Wardrope Reply |
