Agree desperado, won’t be loads coming in, keeping the likes of tash shows Lennon putting more faith in players who were here last season but didn’t make an impact over looking to get new players in.

Hope that loyalty pays off…

Cammypar, are you saying that Alfons Amade has signed? Can`t see anything online about it.

No, I took the squad who featured in the friendly, which I didn`t watch hence why I said I haven`t seen him so I can`t comment on his ability.

I wonder if we will see any new "trialists" against East Kilbride today?

We caught Easton at Pitreavie this morning. Pars have made a couple of bids that Raith have knocked back, there’s a third one on the table we believe.

Easton getting offered a chunky wage and isn’t adverse to coming. He’s an Edinburgh lad so doesn’t see the big rivalry really between the two clubs.

My take is it’s all on Raith, but their reluctance to sell to us is the fly in the ointment and likely reason why it’ll not happen.

Don’t know why, but I just have a sneaky feeling this will happen.

I certainly hope we`re going to do a fair bit more business , because what we`ve done so far has been underwhelming .

I definitely won`t be rushing out to put money on us at 4/1 or skinnier , unless I see some strengthening of the squad .

I think one or two of the retained players might impto a meaningful degree, most not so much.

Still hoping for 7 or 8 quality signings on top of what is on the books now so we can compete for promotion. It is seeming less and less likely as time goes on though.

Totally agree N10Y.

A lot of the young lads will be loaned out and we still need 6/7 players to come in as starters.

We are still so light upfront with only Kane and Connor Young.

If it does they will need a good story for their fans.

I reckon it’s only going to happen if Easton hands in a transfer request.

What I’ve heard from a few folk is that he’d be almost tripling his wages. So it’ll come down to how much he wants the move.

I’d doubt that Shelly, if we had them signed Lennon would be keen to get them involved with today’s game to get them gelling with the rest of the team.

Hopefully we are very close with a couple tho and they will be announced in the coming days.

Generally speaking, players can`t play for another club in an official capacity unless they’re either:

1. Out of contract,
2. On loan with permission to play, or
3. Have had their transfer formally completed (registered with the relevant FA).

So if a player hasn’t been officially released or their move hasn’t been finalised through the proper registration channels, they legally can’t feature for another club in a friendly or competitive match. That said, some pre contract agreements or pending deals might exist, where both clubs and the player are aligned, just waiting for contract dates or transfer windows to open.

In friendlies, you might occasionally see a trialist involved, but even that usually requires the parent club`s consent if they’re still under contract.

We might have one or two potential signings lined up whose paperwork isn’t quite over the line yet, or if they’re still technically contracted elsewhere until the end of June, they’d be unavailable today.

Alan Nixon (football reporter for the Sun) claims we`re after a Watford goalkeeper, presumably Myles Roberts (article is behind a pay wall) who had a successful spell at Partick Thistle last season until he was recalled in January, I believe his contract is up as of tomorrow.

I wouldn`t use the word successful, he was absolutely humpty the few times I seen him then would make an unbelievable stop then throw one in.

It is worth noting that the English contracts usually end at the end of June/start of July. It is really worrying how slow we’ve been though, with the flurry of signings in January I at least hoped we’d have been more pro-active but right now it’s not looking like it

I didn`t watch him all that much (the Pars probably didn`t test him in the 2 games he faced us 🤣) either but thought he looked like he had decent potential, he only conceded 14 goals in 19 games and kept 8 clean sheets in the championship up to his recall, that`s pretty impressive.

Oh dear - getting Tobi back is looking more unlikely. Would love us to sign him. Still the club has to make plans for next season and can’t wait forever.

Fwiw he was awarded two player of the month awards at Thistle, it can be an indicator of a team playing poorly when a keeper gets the accolades but he must have been doing something right, lets hope he`s not got a case of the dracula`s like Mehmet.
