On Fleetwood Town website

The striker follows in the sporting footsteps of his family, with older brother Ali representing Northern Ireland at senior level and younger brother Ross a Scotland rugby sevens international. With strong pedigree and hunger to make his mark in England, McCann now looks set to embark on the next chapter of his career on the Fylde Coast.

Fleetwood fans can look forward to seeing a determined young striker eager to test himself in the EFL, as McCann joins a Town side looking to challenge at the top end of Sky Bet League Two this season.

And I agree. They will be in or near the playoffs.

God knows how McCann has managed to pull this move off. Cracking move for him but he’s gonna struggle massively in League 2.

..............

Drop it everyone
How many negative comments about a player who has left us do they have to get before its online abuse
Tread carefully peeps
FFS
Wish him well.

I don`t think that comment from Ahoy! ahoy! was anywhere near abuse. I was actually disappointed that we let Lewis McCann go, throughout his time with us I always thought it was a matter of time before he hit a purple patch, or a manager could give him the confidence he needed to kick on, but sadly it didn`t happen for him here. Probably a combination of being played up front on his own, and being a young player in a struggling team. I think he has all the attributes to be a good player, he`s big strong, fairly quick and works hard. I always thought he could do with being a bit more aggressive, nastier. Fleetwood Town is a fairly decent move for him, hope he kicks on there, as he seems like a nice guy and a good professional

Agree it`s not abusive, but I think we can all agree it was totally unnecessary. Unless Ahoy, Ahoy has a functioning crystal ball, he can`t know with any certainty how Lewis will fare at Fleetwood.

I hope he smashes it and wish him all the best.

Not your average Sunday League player.

Just had lunch with a fairly busy agent type, no rumours or chat circulating about us than than we have spoken to a few players that were never likely to come to us.
Here`s hoping something comes out of left field.
On McCann, good luck to the lad, nice wee move for him.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Have a day off mate. If that’s the comment that riles you up the most on this forum then I don’t know what to say.

Saying a player will struggle in league 2 is hardly online abuse.

He didn`t say it was.
Try reading his post with your thinking head on. Oh, wait a minute!

Ahoy’s comment might’ve been a bit negative , but that’s just his take on it. It`s a fans forum and not everyone will agree. To basically calling the lad thick was uncalled for, completely off topic and unnecessary. Have your say on the football, not on what you think someone’s intelligence could be.

incoming striker 237 carrer appearances 64 goals, familair name 9 goals in the league last season. 12 goals in 31 games his best return at this level. i`d imagine its a loan deal.

That was just banter. I give it and I get it. In fact, I get much more than I give. Jist part of the forum. Honestly no real offence intended.

Please not Rudden. I’ve seen more than enough of him to say categorically that he is not the answer.

Zak Rudden 🤦🏻‍♂️

I suppose if that’s the best we can do we’re gonna have to accept it.

I asked Grok for recommendations since we apparently follow AI advice these days

Grok recommends Chris Martin but said Jordan Rhodes or Benjamin Kimpioka as alternatives. It did mention that Jordan Rhodes would an expensive alternative as he’d likely demand a higher wage

Be interesting what other AI’s would recommend.

I prompted it with : if you were the manager of Dunfermline Athletic and had to sign a new striker who realistically sign and be affordable, who would you sign?

I think Rudden was getting a game still this season at Livi?

I`ve no idea if Zak Rudden is coming but David Martindale was quoted this afternoon saying he might have to go back into the transfer market -

`Up until probably 48 hours ago I was fairly happy with what I had, but there’s been a wee bit of developments in here that are probably going to nudge me back into the market.

That was a wee bit unexpected, to be honest. I had a phone call yesterday with a club interested in one of our players who indicated that he’s not had as much game time as he wants, so he’d probably like to explore that opportunity, which I’m more than happy with. I’ve got a great relationship with the player.

And we’ve got another one who’s got a loan option at a pretty decent level. None of them are signed, sealed and delivered, but I think the two of them are potentially going to get done.

So it’s probably opened up the door for me to have a wee look at another possibly one, possibly two coming in.`

Maybe it could be Rudden then 🤷🏻‍♂️ he’d be more effective than Connor Young tbf.

Rudden is an experienced pro. That`s what we need. There are no prolific strikers available to us so its about expectation. At 25 he will be looking for game time. He would get that with us. If he comes he has a chance of regular football and to improve. He was a Scotland U21 so must have something.

He scores goals so in the right setup he could do well for us.

in the championship, 121 appearances, 37 goals.

people wanted an experienced championship striker....

maybe it is Rudden but maybe another striker will come in as well, could be a few ins and outs before either the main window closing or the extra loan window.

I think Rudden was in the Dundee team that got promoted from the championship, the Rovers team that finished second and obviously went up with Livi last season. I can’t remember where Queens Park finished the season he spent with them 🤷🏻‍♂️

As much as it might be an underwhelming name, he could be as good as were likely to get and has been involved in numerous successful seasons for respective clubs in the Championship

He wasn`t at Livi last season. He was at Queens Park and scored 9 goals.

He signed for Livi in the summer
