162. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 14:05 Even if we could afford him, how do you persuade a current international player to drop down to the Scottish Championship? He got away from it as soon as he could the last time he played in it. If Aberdeen couldn`t get him away from Millwall I don`t see any way we could. Reply |

164. Author: red-star-par Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 14:15 Simon Murray would be exactly the sort of player we need, that would be the icing on the cake if we got him. Think the club are after younger players though Reply |

He was nominated for PFA Player of the Year last season and bagged 8 goals in as many games to win Player of the Month in April. Ended up sweeping both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at his boyhood club. No doubt he’s a proven scorer, but he just doesn’t fit our transfer strategy and with the financial implications it would take, it makes absolutely no sense. c'mon the pars Reply |
167. Author: Ahoy!Ahoy! Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 14:34 Let’s be realistic folks Kevin Nisbet or Simon Murray won’t be rocking up at East End. I fully expect we’ll get a striker in shortly but it’s not going to be either of them. Reply |

He’ll have literally no resale value beyond his contract end date perhaps Dundee would take an offer now to cash in. Contracts can work for the club as well as the player. Either way it’s rumour, let’s see what develops. Post Edited (Wed 20 Aug 15:48) Reply |

172. Author: cammypar 1995 Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 16:05 WarringtonPar, Wed 20 Aug 15:56 That’s not really how it works. Murray might be 33 but resale value isn’t the only factor in football. He’s Dundee’s captain, top scorer and absolutely central to how they play, losing him would massively weaken them. Clubs don’t just flog their best players for peanuts because of age, especially when he’s still under contract and producing every week. That’s why it would take a big offer, Dundee would have to be properly compensated for ripping up the spine of their team at this stage of the window. c'mon the pars Reply |

174. Author: neils Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 16:10 It was really only at Ross Co. That he was injury free, apart from that his career has a lot of goals, and a lot of injuries....... we`ve been here before. Reply |

177. Author: AlterPar Date: Wed 20th Aug 2025. 18:20 I did get a bit caught up in the excitement thinking we might have been in for Martin Boyle earlier in the window, then I was at Easter Road for the partizan game and saw him and did have a laugh to myself thinking that was never happening. Murray won’t happen either. Dundees best player in a very important year for them where they might struggle to stay up even with him. Reply |

179. Author: DNCH Date: Thu 21st Aug 2025. 05:24 Simon Murray? We’ve officially lost the plot. He was runner up to Maeda in every award last season (could argue he was unlucky) and he scored something like 21 goals in the top flight. He’s 100% the type of experienced forward that we could use but that’s just flat out not happening. Even at his age I wouldn’t be surprised if another club threw him a 2 year deal. Reply |
