122. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 17th Aug 2025. 12:47 That looks like being quite a fee for a young lad who isn`t even a regular starter in a Scottish Championship side. It seems odd that there has been no apparent interest in Oli Shaw despite Hamilton`s precarious financial position. I see they lost 2-1 at home to E Fife yesterday despite taking the lead. Charlie Telfer was playing for them, presumably as an `amateur`. Reply |
123. Author: neils Date: Sun 17th Aug 2025. 13:25 I hope the authorities are keeping an extremely careful eye on the `amateurs` Yes it`s a mystery how a forward line that`s comfortably mid table Championship aren`t angling for a move, despite playing in front of crowds in the low hundreds, with no ground. Last year he played 45 times in all competitions, chipping in with 11 goals and 2 assists which is not a bad return at all considering he was in a team that went down. I’d imagine the lack of game time this season is more to do with the club knowing his time there is up and wanting to get minutes into a replacement rather than anything else. c'mon the pars Reply |
125. Author: Bovril Man Date: Sun 17th Aug 2025. 18:00 Kirk is an outstanding young talent and will go for much more money than we can afford. But it’s obvious why NL was very keen to bring him in. Here’s hoping he has a similar ‘plan B’ target that’s of comparable quality! Reply |

Courier Sport understands that Dunfermline have also made a bid in that region, which wasn’t entertained by American owner, Adam Webb" another Courier update.... Reply |

Author: Stanza Date: Sun 17th Aug 2025. 20:20 wee eck, Sun 17 Aug 12:47 I was at the Hamilton-East Fife match (good end-to-end game, btw) and IMO Shaw did nothing to suggest he would improve us or any other Championship club. Telfer put in a decent shift, but has never fully realised his early potential (he`s still only 30) which is a shame. _________________ ![]() Reply |

137. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Mon 18th Aug 2025. 11:47 I suppose with this kind of activity, it generates some headlines for the club, raises the profile, and lets other potential options appreciate the ambition of the club. I think that this probably has the same feel as the Dylan Easton affair in that a club in the same league is unlikely to sell to a rival. One of several irons in the fire you would hope. I don`t think that the squad numbers is about squad numbers and filling positions per se. I think its about bringing in players to develop them over time as part of a holistic approach to squad development and planning ahead. G Wardrope Reply |
138. Author: kelty_par Date: Mon 18th Aug 2025. 12:25 I heard about random name the other day which I won`t reveal as I don`t believe it for one second but if it came off it would be quite a coup in terms of name recognition and level the guy was playing at, but would also be a left field signing. I think he`smaybe 32 or 33 and currently at a club (and has played andscored this season) but has been told he can leave. Like I say, I can`t see it happening though. I`m sure we`re looking but offering deals, making bids and getting the player actually in the building are totally far removed. Reply |

The owners clearly have big ambitions and are pushing hard to land a marquee signing up front. Fingers crossed they can pull it off, though at the moment, it’s looking like a tough one to get over the line. Reply |
140. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 18th Aug 2025. 13:45 One that got away? The Record reports - `Motherwell have signed former Kilmarnock and St Johnstone striker Callum Hendry on a two-year deal. The 27-year-old swapped the SPFL for the EFL in 2022, spending two seasons with Salford City before signing for MK Dons a year ago. He started last season with two goals in four games but lost his starting place after a spell out with injury and now he heads back north to sign for the Steelmen.` He`s the son of Colin Hendry of course. I did wonder about him but didn`t think he was particularly prolific. Reply |
