403. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 4th Jul 2026. 17:30 I thought the players looked fit and sharp enough. We do nèed at least one experienced CB in we thought. Additionally for some of the players who have been at the club for over a season or two (McLeod, Bray, Cooper etc.), at some point they need to have a run in the first team. Its a big season for those players. It seems we are in the same position as last year, lacking a few players at the start of the season. GK, CB etc. G Wardrope Post Edited (Sat 04 Jul 21:56) Reply
404. Author: Bertie Paton Date: Sat 4th Jul 2026. 17:36 Alex Bannon(RCB) can cover right back too apparently and Arron Donnelly (LCB) he can play left back too. Both would be worth a look for us. Reply

| 406. Author: GJS93 Date: Sat 4th Jul 2026. 18:31 the club apparently asked about Donnelly in January but it didnt happen, he has been told he can leave Dundee but they have just sold two centre halfs so that might not be an option for a while. gut feeling is they will be looking elsewhere for that type of player. im sure they are trying to get Oxborough back but Motherwell might not even consider it until they are out of Europe as an example, the club cant/shouldnt wait forever on any player. | 407. Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 06:53 Indiapar1, Sat 4 Jul 17:30 Josh Cooper has had plenty of opportunities, but he just doesn`t do anything with them. He actually looks better most of the time when he comes on as a substitute. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |
408. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 09:16 Sacktheref69, Sun 5 Jul 06:53 Yes agree. He needs to step up this season, and put in some consistent performances over 90 minutes. Good to see Keith Bray get two. Big season for him too. The squad looked fit and sharp so hopefully we can get off to a good start in the league. We dominated the game, its just that final.third. Kian Corbally looked good, looked for space., moved the ball well and has good balance Should have had a go from the edge of the box second half rather than push the ball wide that wasn`t really on we thought. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 09:37 Sacktheref69, Sun 5 Jul 06:53 Was really surprised at his contract extension last summer, but we really need more from him, however he looks to be “an impact player” from the bench and nothing more. He was the same in League 1&2 with Stirling. If he has another season like this, I do wonder if he will drift out of the picture. Loving You, Is In My DNA 🇾🇪 Reply
410. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 09:51 I wonder if footballers now accept that not everyone can start but the availability of up to five substitutions means they have a good chance of playing even if they don`t start? You often hear managers say that the team you finish with is more important than the team you start with. Maybe it`s just psychology to boost the subs` confidence but often they are more effective in that role. The World Cup just emphasises the importance of having good players on the bench who can potentially change the outcome of a game. Also, with fewer natural breaks in the game there is likely to be more need to replace tiring bodies and minds. Reply
411. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 11:10 I do think in terms of opportunity for the team we look in better shape this season than last A number of players have moved on and that creates opportunities for the likes of Bray, McLeod and Cooper. I was surprised we let Chris Hamilton go, but perhaps there was an opportunity to strengthen in that area. I was impressed yesterday by the fitness levels and the physical condition of the players, that not only helps in the physical challenges but the ability to create more movement off the ball. We only had glimpses yesterday of Lewis Fyfe, but you can see he is developing physically and gaining confidence. He will break into the team this year and feature more, but no doubt will be carefully managed by NL and the team in my view. G Wardrope Reply
| 412. Author: Berkey Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 13:44 Cooper hasn’t done enough, very fortunate to get a 3 year deal IMO, does chip in with goals but hasn’t got the pace or physical attributes to regularly make an impact. Would like Fyfe to go out on loan maybe until Christmas this is a hard league to cut your teeth in as a striker and with rudden, Kane, shaw as recognised strikers I’d rather he was playing (no idea what will happen with young but should be given a chance before Fyfe at this point after a good season) Hard to tell how we will shape up this season, need to play some championship clubs to get a feel for how we’re looking. Hoping for at least a few more to come in, in key positions to give us more pace, physcial presence and creativity to help break teams down. | 413. Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 14:58 It seemed a bit of a knee jerk reaction to give him a three year deal after a few good scoring performances in the Betfred Cup. It`s a big season for him coming up . If he continues to blow hot and cold, he could find himself being left behind in favour of a more consistent performer. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |
414. Author: desparado Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 15:13 EK manager was very complimentary about CY. He has scored goals playing men’s football and you would think that he should be ahead of Fyfe and Sutherland in the pecking order. We paid a fee for him so you would think he would get a chance at least to see what he can do. Hopefully in the cup games. What an opportunity we missed in 2014. Reply
415. Author: Higgys Mohawk Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 15:31 The fact Young has not been involved in the friendlies says to me he is on his way out. If he was being given a chance to prove himself he would have featured in these two games. Reply
416. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 15:35 Did CY go to Bulgaria? Unless he`s injured you would think the club would want to get him match fit for the new season even if he has no future at the club. Reply
417. Author: GJS93 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 17:57 he was in Bulgaria. if talking about what other managers have said, Jim Weir described Sutherland as a "diamond" after his loan spell at Forfar last season. Reply
418. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 18:25 Cheers, GJS. It seems odd he hasn`t played in either public friendly and no explanation has been given for his absence. Reply
419. Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 5th Jul 2026. 18:25 He`s still only 21, so he`s got plenty of time on his side. I`d love to see him in League One. We know he can score in League Two, so his next test should be at a League One club. It all depends on what offers come in for him. His previous performances at Championship level flattered to deceive, albeit in a poor team. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply
