Pars are among those interested in a young Rangers` midfielder according to the Record -

`Rangers are considering a string of Scottish Championship options for Calum Adamson. Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline have all been in contact with the Ibrox side.

The midfielder impressed on loan at Alloa Athletic last season. Rangers now want him to take the step up to the next tier. Queen’s Park is also an option. The Spiders would be keen to take him as part of their cooperation agreement. That would also allow Rangers to recall Adamson for European games.`

Bertie Paton, Thu 23 Jul 14:32

I was up at the Dundee V Everton Friendly last Saturday and Donnelly played the full match.

Didn`t do much wrong even though Everton scored four.

He played left of a CB pairing. Accurate passing out of defence. Certainly 6 foot plus. Not the biggest built, I would say he looked a bit like a left back playing at centre half the way he positioned himself and moved about the pitch. I wouldn`t be too concerned with that if he came to the Pars, as we play a left centre back in a back three and that would suit him better than in back four. Maybe that`s why Pressley isn`t so keen.

I believe he was the only player who played 90 minutes. Certainly be a good move for Dunfermline and he would get game time in a team looking for automatic promotion. It would be good for both parties. Maybe he feels his time isnt over at Dundee or they think longer term he good do a good job for them. Sometimes you take a step back to take a step forward and get into an environment to build your confidence and experience. A permanent move would be better for him, as sometimes you just have to move on. Its not always about the money on offer at the time but the future opportunities it bring I think.

Dundee fans think its down to wages as well but Robinson was signed to do that role here ie left back/centre half, only use Tod on the right? could Donnelly play in the middle but is that the best role for Cleall-Harding...then there is Abdulai.

Perhaps he’s thinking he can use Abduli in midfield this season ?

I wonder as well from the Cove game if NL is thinking of using McLeod as a LWB?

Abdulai in midfield could be an option as long as its not with Gilmour, it didnt work at all when it was those two, the couple other times with Amade alongside he looked ok in there.

R.Macleod as a wing back maybe, with so many attacking midfielder/no10 types in the squad and maybe more to come, got to find roles for some of these guys to plug other holes in the squad.

I really rate abdulai as a centre back but he just doesn’t look like a centre midfielder to me, but I’m not the expert.

Judging from Adamsons 13 yellow cards last season, I’m guessing he is more of a defensive midfielder.

Abdulai is a real athlete and I thought he showed good potential in midfield. If they can get the back line sorted out I would be happy to see him get a bit longer to establish himself in midfield

I’m in the need another experienced CB camp.

I’m just not convinced J.Tod is ready, he does well taking the ball up the park but think there are errors in him defensively still, and that’s to be expected right as he’s still young and learning the game but if we want to be challenging for the title we can’t afford to lose slack goals like we have done in previous seasons.

Robinson looks ok from what I’ve seen, I think he’s a bit of an old school defender and seems a bit limited going forward but looks like he’ll do the job.

SCH young promising lad, Fraser obviously high quality. Abdulai I think will be centre of defence and the experienced one - but I just think we need one more.

We can confirm that Kai Kennedy has left the club with immediate effect.

As many will be aware we have been dealing with an ongoing issue internally. It is a private matter that club officials and management have worked tirelessly to resolve whilst trying to protect the interests of the club.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach a suitable resolution and the situation has become untenable. We therefore feel it is time to draw a line under the matter and in the best interest of Queens we have mutually agreed to terminate Kai`s contract.

We can now move on and let the manager continue to build his squad as it is crucial we have the players prepared to give their all for Queen of the South FC.

Another average player who thinks he's a big time Charlie.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Sounds like he`s had his head turned and has downed tools?

I don`t know why any team would want a player that downs tools because they don`t get their own way disrupting their squad.

Didn`t he appear recently as a trialist for Livingston? The rumour is that he has been training with them?

Abdulai could do a job in midfield but only in a game where we are protecting a lead, basically the job Chris Hamilton did for us.

In a game where we are on the front foot needing creativity and accurate passing then no way can he play there. Central defender first and foremost.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Similar to Otoo, I don`t think it would be a good thing for Abdulai`s development to shift his position around. He`s much better as a centre back for me and should remain there. We need to bring in a central midfielder battler but I`d rather they were natural to that position already.

Abdulia can go in to midfield in certain stages of games of course . He is a CB with massive potential and I`d imagine NL thinks the same.
