Always liked Hopkirk, direct and a not bad finisher

I have two abiding memories of Hopkirk, the first, he was working a shift at the co-op when he got the message that the Pars wanted to sign him. The other being a breakaway goal at Ayr in a game where Cardle was sent off.

Was Hopkirk the one who got rumbled trying to bring a female companion into the team hotel the night before a game up at Ross County / Inverness?

Allegedly of course....

He`s 33 now. Last club was Drumchapel United.

That seems a completely different era! Good on him for continuing to play, although 33 isnt completely ancient.

You’re right Kozma, Geggan was a great player. Got him, Ryan Wallace and Wee Josh at the same time from lower leagues and they were all superb players for us.

These players never seemed to have a bad game! ... although Josh conceded a foul straight from kick off in the second leg play-off against Cowdenbeath and they scored from the free kick!

I always thought Ryan Wallace would have gone on to higher things but his career stalled. I recall he was out for ages with some mystery injury which required complete bed rest.

Andy Geggan is a guest tomorrow at EEP with Joe Cardle at the first of the Sunday Sessions which give the fans the chance to meet the players and take part in a Q & A.

He seems to have steadied the ship a wee bit. 3 wins and 3 losses in their last 6 League games.
